Root, Strickland Tied for Hantz Group/Allegiant Air Late Model Gold Cup Series
TOLEDO, OH: (7-13-09): Grand Rapids, MI driver Mike Root and local favorite Dennis Strickland of Carleton, MI head the list of entries for round number 3 of the Hantz Group/Allegiant Air ARCA Late Model Gold Cup Series this Friday night at Toledo Speedway. The duo is tied for the point lead in the 5-race series, featuring 2 races at Flat Rock Speedway and 3 at Toledo this season. The 75 lap contest will pay $2000 to the winner and $425 to start. Marco's Pizza and Teamsters Local 20 will sponsor the July 17 race card at the fast ½ mile paved oval.

...Action and Fireworks Feed Flat Rock Fans
FLAT ROCK, MI: (7-11-09): If you were looking for Saturday night, action-packed short track racing and a great fireworks display to top things off, then Flat Rock Speedway was the deal! The annual Miller Lite Triple 50's and Fireworks show had plenty of both, with Tim Moore, Darrell Krause, Eric Lee and Billy Earley taking the feature race wins. A great crowd, bolstered by free admission for kids 14 and under, was treated to a spectacular pyrotechnics show under the direction of the Volcano Fireworks Company to end the evening.
...Santa Delivers as Promised at Toledo
TOLEDO, OH: (7-10-09): Santa Claus made good on his promise to race fans Friday night at Toledo Speedway as over 40 lucky race fans walked out with a prize as part of the Christmas in July promotion. On the track, Terry Jones, Robbie Loving, Landon Schuster, Randy Padgett and Brad Turner captured feature wins on Velvet Ice Cream/Lakeshore Utility Trailer Sales Night. The Maumee Valley Seaway Commanders performed the National Anthem.

Flat Rock Speedway to Host David Ragan Aug. 15 for Autograph Session
FLAT ROCK, MI: (7-10-09): One of NASCAR's young stars will greet race fans Saturday evening, August 15 at Flat Rock Speedway. David Ragan, the driver of the Roush Racing #6 on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series tour, will greet race fans as part of the Leppen Chiropractic/United Way of Monroe County Autograph Night program. The track will also host a Racer's Reunion for former racers.
Ragan, a native of Unadilla, GA, worked his way up the racing ladder, starting in Legends Cars, moving up to the ARCA RE/MAX Series where he finished 3rd in the final 2005 points. David caught the eye of car owner Jack Roush and began his ascent to the Cup Series, where he now competes. Ragan also is running in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2009.

TOLEDO, OH: (7-8-09): Track officials have announced that the June 19 ARCA Hantz Group/Allegiant Air Late Model Gold Cup date that was rained out June 19 has been reset for Friday, July 31 at Toledo Speedway.

Kyle Busch to Race at Toledo August 14 in CRA 100
RACE MOVED FROM ORIGINAL JULY 31 DATE
TOLEDO, OH: (7-9-09): Toledo Speedway officials have announced that NASCAR STAR KYLE BUSCH will compete in the CRA Super Series Late Model 100 Friday evening, August 14. The CRA race, originally scheduled for July 31, is being moved to the August 14 date.
Busch, one of the top stars in all 3 of NASCAR'S major circuits, has been a frequent competitor with the CRA Super Series Late Models this season. Busch, already in the area for the Michigan International Speedway (MIS) race weekend, will make his way 60 miles south to Toledo Friday, August 14 after his duties at the wheel of the #18 Joe Gibbs Racing machine are completed at MIS.

...Maran Wins Great Flat Rock Enduro 250
FLAT ROCK, MI: (7-4-09): Jeff Maran took advantage of a blocked track at lap 209 after a sensational battle with Dave Arnold Jr. for over 100 laps and sped to victory and the $1000 payday in Saturday night's 250 lap Enduro race at Flat Rock Speedway. Eric Hoffman captured the MCR Dwarf Car feature, Brad Turner took the ARCA 4 Cylinder main and Steve Matusiewicz won the Figure 8 Boat race as the track celebrated the 4th of July holiday.
...Santos, East Victorious in Toledo USAC Runs
TOLEDO, OH: (7-3-09): Perfect weather conditions greeted a good crowd that gathered for the return of the USAC National Sprint and Midget tours to Toledo Speedway Friday evening. Ron Hemelgarn, the 1996 Indy 500 winning car owner and a local area businessman, spoke to the crowd in pre-race ceremonies. The race card was sponsored by Hemelgarn Racing and Super Fitness. Bobby Santos III and Bobby East picked up the feature wins. Jim Young, who set fast time in the very first race at Toledo 50 years ago in 1960, sang the national anthem and received a rousing ovation from the fans. Complete Results

It has been six years since there have been over 40 super late models at Flat Rock Speedway, but 42 made their way to the track for the Stan Yee Memorial race, which was part of the Hantz Group (presented by Allegiant Air) Gold Cup series. For the last four years the Gold Cup races have been at held Toledo ... the last one run at Flat Rock was in 2005.

Just a reminder the A Main has two (2) 50 lap races in a row and the B Main has two (2) 25 lap races: July 11 and July 18.
The Street Stocks WILL NOT RUN HEAT RACES JULY 11.
A full show is scheduled for July 18.

USAC Returns to Toledo July 3; Hemelgarn, Super Fitness Back Event
TOLEDO, OH: (6-30-09): The entry lists for both the USAC National Sprint and Midget Series event at Toledo Speedway are taking shape as the Friday, July 3 race at Toledo Speedway nears. 1996 Indy 500 winning car owner, Ron Hemelgarn, and his Hemelgarn Racing Team will sponsor the race along with Super Fitness.

Luberda Edges Lee in Stirring Duel; Wins Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 at Flat Rock
FLAT ROCK, MI: (6-27-09): Mike Luberda was one of the first to arrive at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday afternoon. Luberda hurried through the gates and up to the edge of the speedway as track personnel started moving equipment in place for the 2nd Annual Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150, his memories going back to the one and only time he visited the track, back in the mid-1970's with his father, Mike Sr., for one of the Wednesday night Michigan Speedway Promoter's Association Late Model shows.
