FLAT ROCK, MI: (8-1-09): Danny Bennett's years of competition paid off Saturday night at Flat Rock Speedway as he claimed the win in the 250 lap Enduro race on a cool, cloudy evening. Shawn Bershback took the 4 Cylinder main and the duo of Howard Kelley Jr./Tom O'Leary III captured a wild 10 team Figure 8 Train race. The TKC Go-Kart Club also ran several events. ...

TOLEDO, OH: (7-31-09): Scott Hantz made it 3 for 3 and a clean sweep in ARCA Late Model action at Toledo Speedway this season, taking win number 3 Friday night in the 75 lap Hantz Group/Allegiant Air Gold Cup Series feature event. Mark McElyea and his company, Car Credit Medic, sponsored the night of racing. Mark presented the trophies to the winners in the Glass Bowl Lanes Winner's Circle. Grand Rapids, MI driver Mike Root sealed up the Gold Cup championship, which consisted of the 3 events at Toledo and two races at Flat Rock Speedway this year. ...

1980-BOB SENNEKER SCORES 100-LAP FEATURE

Toledo Speedway held its first extra-distance affair of the season and it was the "Bluebird" Bob Senneker taking the twin 50-lap features in his signature late model #84. Senneker, a frequent Toledo Speedway visitor, has tasted success consistently at Toledo as well as in major high-dollar payout late model races throughout the Midwest US and Canada.

1980-JUNIOR HANLEY SWEEPS TOLEDO CLEAN

Canadian ace Junior Hanley continued his dominance of late model racing at Toledo Speedway, taking the 50-lap mid season championship race over Chuck Roumell, Dave Simko, Don Mallott and Ed Cooper. Hanley, in doing so, also set a new track record (14:21.88), eclipsing the previous record set by Joy Fair (14:44.11) in 1976. Hanley also captured the dash and fast heat, while the Carolina Flash Royce Cornett took the other heat.

Harold Fair Jr., who has had a season full of lousy luck, got his first win of the season in round #4 of the Hantz Group/Allegiant Air Gold Cup race at Flat Rock. Harold led all 100 laps in route to his victory.

TOLEDO, OH: (7-28-09): NASCAR's Kyle Busch went right from the Brickyard on Sunday back to the short tracks Monday night and sailed to victory at the Anderson, IN ¼ mile oval in the 300 lap CRA Super Series Late Model race. Busch will be in competition at Toledo Speedway Friday evening, August 14 for the Allen Chevrolet/Cadillac CRA 100 lap contest at the ½ mile Glass City oval.

UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO MARCHING BAND TO PERFORM IN PRE-RACE SHOW
TOLEDO, OH: (7-28-09): In a little more than a month, the superspeedway-style stock cars of the ARCA RE/MAX Series will make the trip to Toledo Speedway for the ARCA 200 presented by Belle Tire. The date is Friday evening, September 4, marking the first RE/MAX event under the lights at Toledo in 3 years. Tickets are now on sale for the event, which includes the University of Toledo Marching Band as part of the pre-race activities.

Heritage Church of God is currently having their children's Vacation Bible School and have invited Flatrock and Toledo race teams to bring their cars to Heritage Church of God at 3520 Strayer Road, in Maumee, Ohio on Thursday, July 30, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. Chaplain Jerry Stewart and Bonnie will be there doing a small presentation.  The Vacation Bible School has a racing theme and about 75-80 kids will be there. Teams are asked to bring their cars to the church between 5 and 6 pm. Please bring pictures to hand out. Please call Chaplain Jerry Stewart at 734-770-5270 if you are able to attend so a car count can be forwarded to the church. Vacation Bible School events are always a fun filled event and great for track and sponsor publicity. FLAT ROCK, MI: (7-25-09): 2-time defending Gold Cup champion Harold Fair Jr. zipped to the win in the All Sport/Monroe Evening News 100 in the Hantz Group/Allegiant Air Gold Cup Late Model feature Saturday night at Flat Rock Speedway. Many fans went home with prizes handed out by Santa Claus for the annual Christmas in July promotion. Rain fell at the track during qualifying, but a great effort by the race teams and officials resulted in a quick drying process and just a brief delay to the start of the show. ...

White Lake, Michigan - July 21st, 2009 - Andrew Hagen has made quite a name for himself within the racing community with an impressive start to his oval racing career driving for Brad Keselowski Racing's Super Late Model team. With only four races under his belt, he has managed to consistently improve and has led for a total of 106 laps, which amounts to 28% of all laps he has raced this season.

FLAT ROCK, MI: (7-18-09): Ron Allen made his first run of 2009 in the ARCA Street Stock class a good one, grabbing the victory in the 50 lap A Main feature race Saturday night at Flat Rock Speedway on Fasten Right Roofing Night. Paul Falkenburg notched the B Main win and Billy Earley made it 4 wins on the season by virtue of his win in the ARCA Figure 8 feature. The TKC Go-Karts staged a pair of exhibition races prior to the start of the program. ...

TOLEDO, OH: (7-17-09): Pleasant Lake, IN driver Scott Hantz made it 2 wins in 2 races in 2009 at Toledo Speedway, as hepicked up the win in the ARCA Late Model Hantz Group/Allegiant Air Gold Cup Late Model 75 lap feature Friday evening. Marco's Pizza and Teamsters Local 20 served as co-sponsors for the night. Brad Turner, Eric Huston and Kent Jones also scored feature wins and made their way to the Glass Bowl Lanes Winner's Circle. ...

1960-BEALE BROTHERS SHINE

Al Beale became the first repeat feature winner at the new Toledo Speedway, taking the 20-lap supermodified feature. Beale started in the 9th slot in the Butler-Frowns ride and quickly moved to the front by lap 5. Ralph McLennan provided some tough competition coming in the runnerup spot, with Rollie Beale rounding out the top 3, fresh off setting the new track record in qualifications. Al Beale also captured the pursuit and fast heat, while McLennan prevailed in the 4-car dash.

Condolences to the family of Shirley McCormick, whose son Wild Bill Barnhart is an ARCA Official at Flat Rock Speedway and has long been an officer in the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club (MARFC).
