Trackside Tidbits by Debi Domby

Paul Pelletier won his first feature of the season and celebrated by doing a 'Polish Victory Lap'. "It was a good race. I had enough of those guys ... it was time to go and start winning races. I want to wish Allison a Happy Birthday. Also want to thank all my sponsors, ABC Plumbing, Jaimes Industries, Exotic Automation. Four Star Steel, Dusty's Collision and Berringer Law," said Pelletier. It was his fifth career win.

Two cars had troubles in hot laps. Dick Barker had transmission problems and Brian Norton had engine problems.

Dan Ford Jr., won his first A division feature of the year. "It's pretty tough out there this year. It was killed or be killed there at the end. I want to thank my sponsors Remerica Country Homes, J.A.F. Enterprises, Moose McGregors, Targey Steel, Flat Rock Tire, my team and family," said the defending division champion. Tonight's win, his 14th A division feature, puts Dan in 10th place on the all the all time career win list, tied with Ken Knight for the position.

Jimmy Alvis returned to racing after breaking his wrist several weeks ago. If you didn't know he had a cast on, you couldn't tell by his driving ... a great battle in the heat (finishing second) and a nice swerve to miss an accident during the feature.

Jimmy Rae won his fifth B division feature of the season. It is the most feature wins of any driver at Flat Rock this season. And he's not leading the B division points, because he's bounced between the A and B division features all season. Going into last Saturday night he was in fifth place. "That was a lot of fun. Thanks to Troy (Brehmer) for driving a nice clean race. It got a little hairy there for a bit. I want to thank Dempsey and Cathy Apperson for all the help they give me with both the Street Stock and the Figure 8 cars," said Rae.

Vern Opkopski Sr. took over the ride driven by Jason Chastian, who recently joined the military (can't remember which branch). It is the first time the former Figure 8 and Late Model driver has ever driven a Street Stock. Mechanical problems stopped the team from competing in the B main..

Robby Loving won the Figure 8 feature. It was his second win of the year at Flat Rock and it was his 28th Figure 8 feature win at Flat Rock. "Greg Studt is a class act, racing me clean. Feels good to beat my other car (Billy Early has been driving Robby's back up car and has two or three wins in it). He's done better the last few times out than I have. I want to wish a Happy Birthday to Carlie, said the driver of the RJS Racing, Blossom Florist, Beaver Creek Resort #16.

Chris Cox was driving the car normally driven by Jerry Lee Jr., who was on vacation this week. Chris got his first Figure 8 win in the heat.

Congrats to Eric Huston on his third Factory Stock win of the year. He has a 25 point lead over Cory McCaughey (who also has three feature wins). It is Eric's ninth career feature win, which ties him for fifth on the Factory Stock career win list.

John Rabideau won his second consecutive Factory Stock B main win.

Terry Jones won his third Sportsman feature of the year, and his seventh career Sportsman win (fifth on the Sportsman career list). He is 45 points behind Ron Allen.
