TOLEDO, OH: (1-30-09): Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway management is proud to announce the continued associations with two companies for the 2009 racing programs at the pair of ARCA-sanctioned short tracks. Allegiant Air will once again serve as a co-sponsor of the Late Model Gold Cup Series, while Five Star Race Car Bodies returns with contingency programs for both the ARCA Street Stock class at Flat Rock and the ARCA Sportsman division at Toledo.

TOLEDO, OH: (2-16-09): One of Toledo's most-established Classic Car clubs will hold their Thursday night cruises at Toledo Speedway in 2009. Beginning May 7 and running each Thursday through October, the Placers Car Club Cruisin' will be held in the track parking lot and grounds, located just a ¼ mile from I-75 on Benore Road.

TOLEDO, Ohio (3-23-09)--Several Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway racecars and ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series race trucks made an appearance to Frenchtown Square Mall in Michigan this weekend for the annual car show. TOLEDO, OH: (4-13-09): A trio of local hotels have partnered up with Toledo Speedway to create the "Preferred Hotel" program for race fans and teams that visit the Toledo area during the 2009 racing season. They are the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriot on Benore Road; the Comfort Inn North on Alexis Road and the Ramada Inn, formerly the Clarion Inn, located at Secor Road and I-475.

Flat Rock, MI  (5-23-09)--  The weather finally cooperated on a Saturday night in Flat Rock, MI, and the fans responded as a good crowd made the trip to Flat Rock Speedway for a great night of racing, capped off with a fantastic fireworks display.  Danny Jackson took top honors for the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series, Mike Bershback won the ARCA 4 Cylinder feature and Tristan Dupuis cruised to the win in the 250 lap Enduro race.  Over 600 kids were on hand for the Kids Night, which featured free admission for children to age 14 and a complimentary hot dog, chips and a drink, courtesy of Sherwood Foods, Seyfert’s Potato Chips and the Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group of Toledo.

TOLEDO, OH  (5-22-09)--  Pleasant Lake, IN driver Scott Hantz zipped into the lead on lap 44 and sailed to victory in the Big Red Crème Soda 100 for the ARCA Hantz Group/Allegiant Air Glass City Gold Cup Late Model Series Friday evening at Toledo Speedway.  Gladys Cothern and Steve Harsh, representing Big Red, presented the Gold Cup to Scott in the Glass Bowl Lanes Winner’s Circle.

Toledo Speedway held it's first Gold Cup race of the season. Scott Hantz swept the night turning the fast time for the event and taking home the win. It was his first ARCA Super Late Model victory in five years and his second career Gold Cup event.

TOLEDO, OH (6-17-09): Summer has arrived! And with it comes the start of 2 busy weekends for the ARCA outlaw-bodied Late Models. Legs 2 and 3 of the 5-race Hantz Group/Allegiant Air Gold Cup Series are on the slate, starting with a 75 lap contest at Toledo Speedway Friday night, June 19. The Series moves to its sister track, Flat Rock Speedway, for the prestigious Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 Saturday evening, June 27.

TOLEDO, OH: (6-18-09): After a one year absence, the United States Auto Club (USAC) will return to Toledo Speedway for an open-wheel doubleheader featuring both the National Sprint Car and Midget Series. Thanks to the sponsorship of local businessman Ron Hemelgarn through his racing group and Super Fitness, Toledo will host the USAC cars Friday evening, July 3.

LEGENDS HERO CARD TO FIRST 1000 FANS THROUGH GATES SATURDAY AT FLAT ROCK

FLAT ROCK, MI: (6-24-09): The anticipation and excitement continues to build each and every day for the prestigious Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 Saturday night, June 27 at Flat Rock Speedway. Track staff has just announced that the first 1000 fans through the front gate will receive a Legends Hero Card, picturing many of the drivers who piloted the Stan Yee #33 machines during his over 40 year career as a car builder and owner.

Saturday's Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 marks just the second year that Flat Rock Speedway's longest Late Model race of the season has been held in memory of Stan Yee, who found success as a car owner and builder for nearly five decades before passing away in 2008. However, the history of weekly Late Model Racing at Flat Rock Speedway dates back to 1962 and this weekend's Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 marks the 14th consecutive season in which the track has contested a 150-lap Late Model feature.

Heritage Church of God is currently having their children's Vacation Bible School and have invited Flatrock and Toledo race teams to bring their cars to Heritage Church of God at 3520 Strayer Road, in Maumee, Ohio on Thursday, July 30, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. Chaplain Jerry Stewart and Bonnie will be there doing a small presentation.  The Vacation Bible School has a racing theme and about 75-80 kids will be there. Teams are asked to bring their cars to the church between 5 and 6 pm. Please bring pictures to hand out. Please call Chaplain Jerry Stewart at 734-770-5270 if you are able to attend so a car count can be forwarded to the church. Vacation Bible School events are always a fun filled event and great for track and sponsor publicity. 1980-JUNIOR HANLEY SWEEPS TOLEDO CLEAN

Canadian ace Junior Hanley continued his dominance of late model racing at Toledo Speedway, taking the 50-lap mid season championship race over Chuck Roumell, Dave Simko, Don Mallott and Ed Cooper. Hanley, in doing so, also set a new track record (14:21.88), eclipsing the previous record set by Joy Fair (14:44.11) in 1976. Hanley also captured the dash and fast heat, while the Carolina Flash Royce Cornett took the other heat.

TOLEDO, OH: (8-7-09): Trent Stephens, Zach Gibson, Landon Schuster and John Rabideau were the winners on Western Lake Erie Insulation Industry Night Friday at Toledo Speedway. Threatening weather stalled the show for a period of time, but track personnel and the race teams worked together to complete the racing card. ...

Condolences to Flat Rock Speedway ARCA Street Stock driver Terry Humphrey and family on the death of his wife, Sheryl Ann. Sheryl Humphrey had battled cancer and died August 9 at the age of 52.

TOLEDO, Ohio (August 14, 2009)--Kyle Busch took a break from testing his CRA Late Model on Thursday to speak with members of the local media on everything from short track racing to points racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Selected quotes from his interview are posted here. Busch will return to Toledo Speedway's half-mile paved oval for Friday night's CRA 100 lap Late Model Feature.
