Fair Jr. Leads Early Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 Entry List

(FLAT ROCK, Mich. - June 21, 2010) - Fresh from his Friday night Toledo victory, Harold Fair Jr. now sets his sights on Saturday?s prestigious Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 at Flat Rock Speedway.  The race is expected to draw over 30 entries, and is leg number 3 of 5 for the ARCA Allegiant Air Gold Cup Series contested between Flat Rock and its sister track, Toledo Speedway.

The second-generation driver has had his share of tough luck this season, but Harold was all business right from the start Friday night.  He topped the 25 car field at Toledo with fast time, and picked up the lead on lap 28 of the 75 lap event, which was run in just 26 minutes.  "I have a lot of work to do on the Flat Rock car," Fair said.  "We'll try to make the practice Wednesday, but if not, we'll be ready to go for Saturday."

An open practice session is set for Wednesday, June 23 at Flat Rock from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.  The pit area will open at 4.  In the event of rain, the practice will be moved to Thursday, June 24 at the same times.

Current Gold Cup point leader Scott Hantz is also entered.  Hantz won the season opener of the Series and finished second to Fair Friday at Toledo.  Local favorite Royce Cornett is also an early entry, and 3-time Flat Rock Street Stock champ Dan Ford Jr. will be at the wheel of Dick Barker's #45 machine for this race.

Flat Rock's Stan Yee Memorial 150 has become one of the top Late Model races in the area.  An incredible field of 42 machines turned out for last year's event, won by Mike Luberda of AuGres, MI as he topped Flat Rock champion Eric Lee by a car length at the stripe.  Justin Schroeder scored the win in the initial Memorial race in 2008.

Bob Fox of Diamond Racing Products has posted $333 for the fastest qualifier, in honor of the famous #33 cars which Stan Yee Sr.'s car have carried since the 1960's.  Stan passed away in 2008.  His son, Stan Jr., continues to compete in the Late Model class and operates the family business.

The winner of the Flat Rock Yee Memorial race will take home $2533, and race $533 to start, also in honor of Yee's famous #33 cars.  Lap money is $5 per lap and will go to the leader of the laps sold for the 150 lap race at "The Rock". To purchase lap money, call the track at 734-782-2480.

Entry blanks may be downloaded from the track's websites at http://www.flatrockspeedway.com/ or http://www.toledospeedway.com/.

The ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks and ARCA Figure 8s will also be in action for the June 26 event at Flat Rock.  The pits open at 1, practice begins at 3, time trials are at 5, and racing takes place at 7 p.m.  All tickets will go on sale at 3 p.m. Saturday at the track.
