Figure 8 Train Races, School Bus Races Coming Up at Flat Rock, Toledo.

Bus Sponsorship Still Available!

Flat Rock, MI:  (5-9-10)-- Trains and buses are the topic; no, it's not a transportation meeting of the local school or government---it's what's racing soon at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways!

A pair of Figure 8 Train races are scheduled for this month; this Saturday, May 15 at Flat Rock and Friday, May 28 at Toledo.  Train racing features a pair of 4 cylinder cars chained together; the front car has the engine, the back car has the brakes!  It gets wild and exciting as action heats up on the first lap!  Attention Figure 8 train teams---get your entries in today!  Save on the late entry fee!  The race pays $750 to win and pays back to 10th spot at $100.

Last season a total of ten train teams showed for the final events, prompting track officials to schedule 7 of these events between the 2 tracks for 2010.  The rules can be obtained from either track office or downloaded from the track's websites.  Go to the form button and click on the Figure 8 train entry blank.  Safety rules are part of the package, but really, the rules are simple; "these are cars we race, not race cars."

Toledo starts the School Bus racing wars with the Burge Wrecking "Night of Destruction" Friday, May 28 at 7:30 p.m.  In addition to the buses, it's a night of family fun and full of Figure 8 racing, with Factory Stock Figure 8, Boat Figure 8 (yes, boats towed by cars racing on the Figure 8 track), the Figure 8 Train race, Back-up race, plywood race and race car bowling!  The rain date for the event is Sunday evening, May 30 at 7:30 p.m.

The Marco's Pizza School Bus Figure 8 races are set for Saturday, June 12 at 7 p.m.  The ARCA Figure 8's, Toledo Factory Stocks and the ARCA 4 Cylinders will provide extra entertainment on a night that promises to be crazy!!

Reserved seat tickets for both School Bus events are now on sale by calling Flat Rock at 734-782-2480 or Toledo at 419-727-1100.  Reserved seats for both events are $16 each regardless of age; ALL general admission tickets ($15) and all children's tickets (ages 6-14 are $3 each) go on sale the day of each event at 4 p.m.

Two school buses are still available for sponsorship at each track.  The package includes 20 tickets, listing in souvenir program, public address announcements, painting of your bus (with your paint) and more fun than you can take for just $600 per bus!  Contact either track to sponsor a bus today!
