Toledo Speedway Prepares for "Fastest Short Track Show in the World" Friday, June 11

TOLEDO, Ohio - May 26, 2010) - Toledo Speedway's annual All American Coach/Qualite Sports Lighting "Fastest Short Track Show in the World" featuring the open-wheel doubleheader of the Midwest Super Modified (MSA)Oswego Winged Challenge Series and the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper (AVBBSS) Super Sprint Cars is set for Friday, June 11.

The event marks the initial Toledo appearance of the combined MSA/Oswego Super Modified group, although many of the drivers have competed at Toledo in the past at the ISMA and MSA events held at the speedway.

Fans will see several new faces, however, as the Oswego Speedway management has given their Super Modifieds the weekend to travel to Toledo for this one-of-a-kind event.

The June 11 doubleheader will also see the return of the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints.  The Michigan-based group has been a mainstay for this race throughout its existence.

Just ask anyone who has been to this race....it's hard to describe.  The awesome display of speed and power takes off right from practice and gets everyone-fans, drivers and crews, yep, even veteran track announcer Gary Lindahl, ready for one of the most anticipated time trial sessions for a short track race!

With the Super Modifieds up first in time trials last season, Chris Perley wowed the large crowd already in the stands, becoming the first Super under the 13 second mark at Toledo with a lap of 12:893.  The time was just daring the AVSS Sprinters to go faster!

The Sprint Cars were next as Ryan Litt appeared to be on his way to a new record, only to crash hard into the backstretch wall just coming off turn 2.  Ryan was ok, his car was not.

And then Jason Blonde powered his way onto the track.  Jason never lifted, the crowd held its breath as he ripped off an unheard-of, spine-tingling, shivering lap at 12:744!

The question is....WILL THE TRACK RECORD BE BROKEN??????

The best way to find out is to be here!!!!  If you have never been to this race, if you kicked yourself for not being here last year.....then make your plans now!

Toledo Speedway is offering a $5 reduction in grandstand admission ticket price to fans who purchase their tickets in advance by 5 p.m. Thursday, June 10.  VISA and Mastercard are accepted for phone orders.  The track ticket office phone number is 419-727-1100.

Entries are expected to begin arriving next week.  The lists will be posted on the track's website at ToledoSpeedway.com.

The pit area opens at 1 p.m., practice begins at 3, and the front gate will open just prior to practice.  The exciting time trial session goes at 5 and racing begins at 7:30 p.m.  Toledo Speedway is located on Benore Road at the I-75/Alexis Road exit on the Michigan-Ohio border.
