Placers Car Club Returns for 3rd Season of Thursday Night Car Cruises at Toledo Speedway
(TOLEDO, Ohio - April 1, 2011) - The Placers Car Club will return to Toledo Speedway for the third consecutive season for their Thursday classic car "cruise-ins", with the first show set for Thursday, May 5.

...Flat Rock Speedway 7 Up Season Opener April 30
(Flat Rock, Michigan- April 17, 2011): Flat Rock Speedway will open its gates for the 58th consecutive season Saturday, April 30 for the 7 Up Season opener. The ¼ mile paved oval and Figure 8 track will feature its Saturday night race cards through September 17.
...TOLEDO FRIDAY PRACTICE CANCELLED; FIRST RACE OF SEASON SATURDAY
(Toledo, Ohio-April 22, 2011): The Friday practice session for the JEGS'S/CRA All Star Crate Late Model Series presented by GM Performance Parts at Toledo Speedway has been cancelled due to rain.
The Saturday, April 23 event has the VR-12/Easter Bunny 100 lap feature race and events for the USA Modifieds will go as planned. Practice will now start at 11 a.m., time trials go at 4 and racing begins at 6 p.m.
Don't forget--The Easter Bunny will be at Toledo Speedway Saturday, and all children to age 12 will be admitted FREE! An Easter Egg hunt for the young ones and a nickel/penny goldrush for the older kids will take place at 5 p.m.
Union members can show their ID card at the ticket windows and receive a $5 discount on a full price admission ticket.
Saturday's schedule has practice at 12:30, time trials at 4 and racing at 6 p.m.

FLAT ROCK SPEEDWAY PRACTICE SESSION BUSY
(Flat Rock, Michigan--April 23, 2011): Sunshine and blue skies greeted race teams for the first of two pre-season practice sessions prior to the April 30 7-Up Season opener.
Over 60 cars took laps on the 1/4 mile oval and Figure 8 track during the day, which started with a damp track and standing water in the track infield.
A Wedesday, April 27 practice is slated from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The pit area will open at 4 p.m.
Opening day will see the ARCA Moran Chevrolet Late Models, Parts Galore Figure 8's and DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks in action Saturday, April 30. The pit area will open at 1:30, practice begins at 3, time trials are at 5 and racing begins at 7 p.m. The front gates will open at 3 p.m.
Sunday, May 1 is the date for the Flat Rock Historical Society Flea Market at the track from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. For table rental information, please call 734-782-5220.

...Strickland, Turner 2 For 2 At Flat Rock; Stadniczuk Claims First Win, Then Rain Again
(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - May 21, 2011) - A nice crowd ventured to Flat Rock Speedway Saturday night for the UAW Local 3000/Stanford-Allen Chevrolet Cadillac Autograph and Scout Night. With the rain once again in the area, the program was stopped with the Street Stock B Main and the Figure 8 feature remaining. Both of those events will be added to the June 4 race card. The track also honored former drivers and personnel at its annual Racer’s Reunion. A total of 14 races were completed, which is a complete event.

Flat Rock, Michigan—May 31, 2011: Entries have been mailed out for the 2011 ARCA Late Model Allegiant Air Glass City Gold Cup Series, a mixture of 5 races between Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways. The 2 tracks are just 30 miles apart, just a short drive down I-75. Grand Rapids, MI driver Mike Root is the 2-time defending champ of the series.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - June 8, 2011) - Avina Specialties will stage the first-ever Glass City Swap Meet at Toledo Speedway Sunday, June 26. All makes of cars, race cars, hi-performance and classic car parts will be for sale at the event, which will take place on the short track at the speedway.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - June 22, 2011) - Race fans will witness the second “Road Course” race in the history of Toledo Speedway Friday evening, June 24. The event utilizes parts of the ½ mile, ¼ mile and pit road, making for a fun and entertaining event. Friday night’s event is part of the Valvoline Instant Oil Change Summer Racing Series being held at the speedway.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - June 22, 2011) - 1996 Indy 500 winning car owner Ron Hemelgarn and the local Super Fitness locations will sponsor the annual USAC Sprint and Midget double-header at Toledo Speedway Friday, July 1. The two USAC divisions have a long and storied history of competition at the Glass City oval, dating back to the late 1960’s.

STRICKLAND EDGES LEE TO WIN ARCA ALLEGIANT GOLD CUP 100 AT FLAT ROCK
(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - June 25, 2011) - Carleton, MI driver Dennis Strickland edged out a hard-charging Eric Lee to win the ARCA Allegiant Late Model Gold Cup 100 lap feature race Saturday night at Flat Rock Speedway. The win was Strickland’s third of the 2011 season at Flat Rock and his first-ever 100 lap win at the ¼ mile paved oval. The night was filled with great racing as each of the 4 feature races saw 2 car battles all the way to the checkered flag

Hantz Enters Toledo Allegiant Gold Cup Race For Friday
(TOLEDO, Ohio - July 6, 2011) - The ARCA Allegiant Glass City Gold Cup Late Model Series moves to Toledo Speedway Friday night, July 8 for round number 2 of the 5 race series. Angola, IN resident Scott Hantz has filed his entry this morning for the 100 lap event at the rocket-fast Glass City ½ mile paved oval for the first of 4 Super Late Model events on the 2011 schedule.

...RAIN SHATTERS GLASS UNLIMITED NIGHT AT FLAT ROCK
Flat Rock, Michigan-July 23, 2011: A pair of heavy rain showers finally put an end to the Glass Unlimited-sponsored night of racing Saturday at Flat Rock Speedway. The first downpour came after qualifying was completed and pushed back the start of the program 30 minutes. With the Late Model feature on the track and 4 laps complete, down came a heavy rain once again, washing out the remainder of the show.
All rain checks will be honored for any remaining event on the 2011 Flat Rock schedule at its face value. Rain checks must be exchanged at the ticket office upon arrival to the track. If there is a difference in price between the rain check and the admission amount for the race selected, the difference will be charged.

(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - July 27, 2011) - A variety of racing events will make up the Saturday, August 6 show at Flat Rock Speedway. The ARCA Truck Series returns to “The Rock” for a 100 lap contest, and will be joined by the track’s Enduro class for a 250 lap feature, a Figure 8 Train race and the ARCA Jeff’s Collision 4 Cylinder division.
...Super Modifieds Return To Flat Rock Speedway After 30 Years; David Ragan To Sign Autographs
(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - August 1, 2011) - In 1981, a group called the IRA Super Modifieds visited Flat Rock Speedway’s ¼ mile paved oval. And now, after a 30 year absence, the Midwest Super Modified (MSA) Association will invade “The Rock” for their first-ever appearance. The slow-slung, winged creations will shoot to break the absolute track record Saturday, August 20.
Race fans will also have the opportunity to meet NASCAR driver David Ragan, the winner of the July NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Daytona International Speedway and the pole sitter for last weekend’s Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Ragan is in the area for the NASCAR race at Michigan International Speedway, where he will pilot car owner Jack Roush’s #6 Ford.
For many of the MSA Super Modified drivers and teams, this will be their first trip to the lightning-fast, 2-groove bowl. Current point leader Trent Stephens, Lou Cicconi, Charlie Schultz, veteran Bobby Dawson and Tim Ice are all set for this big event. Canadian hot shoe Mike Lichty is also expected to be at Flat Rock.

Eric Lee won his first Stan Yee Memorial race, and his third 150-lap feature at Flat Rock Speedway on Saturday. The win was the third race in the Allegiant Air Gold Cup Series. The 150-lapper at Flat Rock has been run all 16 years of the Gold Cup Series. Only three drivers have won the 150 more than once ... Bill Steinhilber with four wins and Lee and Dave Kuhlman with three each.
