EARSMART, TOLEDO BLADE TEAM UP TO PROMOTE STARS AND STRIPES 100 AT TOLEDO SPEEDWAY SEPTEMBER 11

(TOLEDO, Ohio - August 31, 2011) - Toledo area business Earsmart, Inc. and The Toledo Blade have pledged their support to assist the Toledo Police Patrolmen’s Association and the Toledo Fire Department in promoting a pre-race ticket sale for the Sunday, September 11 Earsmart Stars and Stripes 100 presented by the Toledo Blade stock car race at Toledo Speedway.  The pre-sale will serve as a fundraiser, with 50% of the pre-race sale proceeds to be donated to the 2 groups.

Earsmart is an “exclusive” Audibel dealer for the Northwest Ohio region, a product that is the only American-owned and American made hearing device.  Earsmart President Randy Jones has been in the business 22 years and is “very honored to pledge our support for this great event.  We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the race September 11.”  Earsmart will also distribute free ear plugs at the track on race day, while supplies last.

Audibel offers free lifetime service and free batteries for life on all Anthem products.  A 30 day money-back trial is also included.  The 2 Toledo Earsmart locations will offer a free hearing test ($150 value) by mentioning Earsmart’s support of the race at Toledo Speedway September 11.  The two stores are located at Secor and Sylvania Avenues and in Downtown Maumee, OH.  To schedule at test, please call 800-464-8046.  Audibel has donated over 150,000 hearing instruments to underprivileged children around the world and has fit thousands of veterans with hearing instruments.

“We are extremely pleased to announce the addition of Earsmart and the Toledo Blade as sponsors of the September 11 event at Toledo Speedway”, noted Ron Drager, owner of the track.  “With the 10th anniversary of 9-11, the pre-sale ticket fundraiser for the Toledo police and fire groups is just a small, small way in which Toledo Speedway can show its sincere appreciation to those men and women who put their lives on the line each and every day, whether it’s here in Toledo, or elsewhere in the United States or overseas,” added Drager.  “We would like to encourage the public to join us in support of these folks by purchasing at ticket for the event.”

Tickets may be obtained at the following locations; The Toledo Police Museum, 2201 Kenwood Blvd. at Ottawa Park; the Toledo Firefighters Museum, 918 W. Sylvania Avenue; Toledo Firefighters Credit Union, 2275 W. Laskey; the Police Credit Union and Safety Building, 525 N. Erie Street; in downtown Toledo and at the N. Heatherdowns location.

A pre-race ceremony is being planned for the event, featuring vintage police and fire vehicles, as well as a color guard.  On the track, the ARCA Allegiant Gold Cup Late Model series will compete in the Earsmart Stars and Stripes 100 presented by the Toledo Blade on the fast ½ mile paved oval.  The event will serve as the 2011 Season Championship contest for the group.  The track’s R & M Recycling Street Stocks will also be in action with its Season Championship event, with a 50 lap Hahn’s Collision ARCA Truck Series feature also on the September 11 race card.

The spectator gates will open and practice begins for the race cars at 11 a.m., time trials are set for 12:30, the pre-race ceremony will take place at 1:45 p.m. and racing gets the green flag at 2 p.m.  The track phone number is 419-727-1100.  For further information, log onto www.toledospeedway.com.
