LATE MODELS RETURN TO TOLEDO FOR PARTS GALORE 100 FRIDAY; FLAT ROCK’S 60TH ANNIVERSARY, FIREWORKS
(TOLEDO, Ohio - July 10, 2013) - For the last 4 weeks, Mother Nature has not been kind to the Northern Ohio-Southeast Michigan area. But there’s good news in store for this Friday, July 12 at Toledo Speedway. In addition to chatting with the man above, Santa Claus has agreed to make an appearance and has promised good weather for the Parts Galore 100 and the annual Christmas In July prize giveway!
The following night at Flat Rock Speedway, the track will celebrate its 60th Anniversary with 3-60 lap features and a fireworks show to cap off the evening.
The ARCA Glass City Gold Cup Late Model Series returns to the big ½ mile Toledo paved oval Friday night for the 100 lap contest. Race fans will be treated to 2 classes of cars on the 1/2, as the ARCA Parts Galore Sportsman Cars will also be in competition. Add to that the Parts Galore Figure 8 action on the Figure 8 track, plus the prize giveaway and Santa Claus, and it’s a great night of family fun and entertainment in the Glass City!
Fans will enter the drawings for a host of prizes upon entrance to the track. There will be a separate drawing for children and adults.
On the track, the Late Models will hit the track for the all-green flag 100 lap feature event. Drivers from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Canada are expected for the event. Angola, IN native Scott Hantz won the Hollywood Casino 100 May 10 at Toledo.
The pit area opens at 2, practice begins at 4, the front gates open at 4, time trials start at 6:15 and racing gets the green flag at 7:30 p.m.
FLAT ROCK’S 60TH ANNIVERSARY, FIREWORKS SATURDAY, JULY 13—6:30 START!
After 3 consecutive weeks of rain, Flat Rock Speedway is preparing for its big night, the 60th Anniversary show and Fireworks! The event was originally scheduled for July 6, but the rain has pushed the Triple 60’s to July 13. A special start time of 6:30 p.m. has been set for the event.
The Moran Chevrolet Late Models, the Parts Galore Figure 8’s and the DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks will each compete in 60 lap feature events. The Figure 8 race will be sponsored by A & M Transmission, which is located across the street from the speedway, while the Street Stock event is sponsored by Corrigan Race Fuels.
Associate sponsors for the Anniversary show include Jack Bush and Sons Grading, First Care Ambulance, Glass Unlimited, Carleton Farm Supply, Roberts Security, American Sanitation and Sterling Printing and Graphics.

Track officials are attempting to reschedule the Diamond Racing Products Joy Fair Memorial 100. Additional information will follow soon.
