Racer's Reunion, MARFC Banquet This Saturday at Toledo Speedway Bar & Grill

TOLEDO OH (3-10-08)-All racing fans, track officials, racers and former racers are invited to the Toledo Speedway Bar & Grill thisweekend forseveral racing-related festivities. A Racer's Reunion is slated to begin at 12 noon on Saturday, March 15th at the Toledo Speedway Bar & Grill Banquet Room. Beginning at 2 p.m., the bar will air ABC's broadcast of the Sharpie Mini 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race. At 6 p.m. the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club will hold their monthly meeting.

More than 300 former racers and fans have attended the Racer's Reunion in the past. Among them, Bad Jess Austin, Johnny Auxter, Pee Wee Barron, Art Braithwaite, Bill Brown, Rollie Beale, Paul Clark, Jack Conely, Harold Cook, Tom Davidson, Herman Domine, Joy Fair, Terry Fitzwater, George Fosco, Jack Franzil, Bob Frederick, Don Friend, Shirley Gravelle, Fran Harden, Don Harrell, Dick Huston, Jeep Iacobucci, Craig Jackson, Bill Jones, Joey Koester, Wayne Landon, Gary Lindahl, Johnny Logan, Art Lutz, Mildred Marcum, Wild Bill Naida, Keith Nelson, Jerry Nemire, Charlie Orns, Wally Peterson, Bryan Phillips, Rich Pilatowski, Benny Rapp, John Riddle, Boots Ruhland, Bill Schneider, Mark Sharrard, Billy Simmons, Dave Steingass, Bob Studt, Jack Wyman, Randy Wynne, Ralph Young and many others.

The racing history exhibited at the event will extend far beyond that of ARCA.

Thousands of photos will be on display documenting a wide variety of racing tracks, divisions and touring series. ARCA, Flat Rock Speedway, Toledo Speedway and all the divisions that raced at both tracks will be represented with photo displays from 1953-2007, as well as 1940s-1970s Midwest open wheel and stock cars, 1960s-1980s Toledo & Flat Rock Late Models and Figure-8s, 1960s-current Midgets, USAC Sprints and open wheel and others. Also expected is various vintage video from yesteryear.

The best thing about the event is the price-FREE! This is your chance to meet your childhood heroes, reflect with past friends and relieve some of the magic that was born decades ago at your favorite Michigan and Ohio short tracks.
