Flat Rock Schedule Ready: Toledo to Follow
TOLEDO OH (1-9-09): Flat Rock Speedway's 2009 schedule is now out, with the 1/4 mile asphalt oval slated to begin its 56th consecutive season of operation beginning Saturday night, April 25. The ARCA Late Models, Figure 8's and Street Stocks will provide a majority of the action at "The Rock" again this year.

ARCA Member Floyd LaLonde Passes.....
Long time ARCA member Floyd LaLonde, who drove in the ARCA Figure-8 and Street Stock divisions at Flat Rock Speedway, passed away recently at the age of 75. Lalonde finished 3rd in ARCA Street Stock points at Flat Rock in 1978, and after retiring from driving sponsored 1981 and 1983 ARCA Street Stock champion Danny Leppen for many years through his Floyd's Muffler Shop business. TOLEDO, OH: (12-9-08): Track management at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways have finalized their dates with the touring series of ARCA for the 2009 season. The ARCA RE/MAX Series will make 2 stops at Toledo again next year, while the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series will visit both tracks for a race event in the upcoming season.

ARP Renews Flat Rock/Toledo Contingency Program for 2009
FLAT ROCK MI (11-11-08)--It's getting cold, there's a few snow flurries in the air around the Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway area, but it's also time to keep plans moving for the 2009 season. Champions honored at Flat Rock/Toledo Banquet
SOUTHGATE MI (11-10-08)--A large crowd of 600 guests converged Friday evening at the annual Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways banquet, held at the elegant Crystal Gardens Banquet Center in Southgate, MI. The evening was hosted by track announcer Gary Lindahl. All the track champions received their championship jackets and garage banners as ARCA President Ron Drager led the toast to the champions.

...ARCA Factory Stock Driver Jim Harmon Passes
Toledo Speedway ARCA Factory Stock driver James L. (Jim) Harmon died September 13 at the age of 59. Jim drove the #3 at Toledo since the 2006 season. A U.S. Army veteran serving overseas from 1966-1969, Jim was a licensed airplane pilot, certified mechanic for the City of Toledo municipal garage and was active in Free Masonry, achieving the 32nd degree. Preceded in death by his mother Helen, he is survived by his father James L. Harmon Sr.; children Bryan, Eric, Fred, Adam, Kim and Shelly; sister Pam Stanton; brothers Tim Harmon and Dave Harmon; and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home (1163 W. Sylvania at Lockwood in Toledo, 419-269-1111) with visitation Friday Sept. 19 from 2-8 p.m. and services Saturday Sept. 20 at 10 a.m.
