Placers Car Club Cruisin' Moves to Toledo Speedway

TOLEDO, OH: (2-16-09): One of Toledo's most-established Classic Car clubs will hold their Thursday night cruises at Toledo Speedway in 2009. Beginning May 7 and running each Thursday through October, the Placers Car Club Cruisin' will be held in the track parking lot and grounds, located just a ¼ mile from I-75 on Benore Road.

The Placers Club car cruises will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Thursday night, with the fall shows going from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Cruisin Zeake will provide the music for the events.

The second Thursday of each month is designated as the Make-A-Wish Super Cruise Night, featuring a live band, with the band Thunder Road set to hit the stage for the May 14 event at 6 p.m.  June 11 will feature an Elvis impersonator, while other bands will be announced soon.  With the Toledo Speedway Bar and Grille located on the grounds, in the event of rain the bands will move inside to the spacious banquet room and all activities planned by the car club will continue, rain or shine!

Food and drink specials will be available at the Bar and Grille patio area during the Thursday night Cruisin' events.

The Club will also have several cars on display at every Friday night racing event held at the ½ mile paved oval this season.

"We are very excited about the Placers Car Club making Toledo Speedway their home for their 2009 calendar of events," noted Scott Schultz, General Manager of the track.  "The group averages over 100 cars each Thursday, and the number jumps closer to 200 on the live band nights.  We look forward to making the Cruisin events a night of fun and entertainment for all ages."
