Salem, IN (April 4, 2013) – CRA officials have released the first list of entries to date for the historic “Border Wars” 7-UP 150 at Toledo Speedway on Saturday, April 20^th, were the ARCA Midwest Tour presented by SCAG Power Equipment and Lester Buildings and the ARCA/CRA Super Series will contest the first ever combination race between the two template touring late model powers. Both series will bring an extreme amount of talent together for the season opener at Toledo Speedway along with some southern flare including Georgia top gun Bubba Pollard and 15 year old South Carolina native Kyle Benjamin who has been on a tear so far this year with four wins at New Smyrna Speedway during Speedweeks in February, a win at The Rattler at South Alabama Speedway on March 17^th and a second place finish in his first ever ARCA Racing Series event on March 9^th at Mobile International Speedway.

TOLEDO, OH: (7-13-09): Grand Rapids, MI driver Mike Root and local favorite Dennis Strickland of Carleton, MI head the list of entries for round number 3 of the Hantz Group/Allegiant Air ARCA Late Model Gold Cup Series this Friday night at Toledo Speedway. The duo is tied for the point lead in the 5-race series, featuring 2 races at Flat Rock Speedway and 3 at Toledo this season. The 75 lap contest will pay $2000 to the winner and $425 to start. Marco's Pizza and Teamsters Local 20 will sponsor the July 17 race card at the fast ½ mile paved oval.

FLAT ROCK, MI: (9-5-09): The Diamond Racing Products Season Championships Saturday night at Flat Rock Speedway saw Eric Lee, Dan Ford Jr., Dennis Whisman-Billy Earley and rookie Anthony Camilli claim their respective track titles. (FLAT ROCK, Michigan - July 11, 2013) - With any luck, the third time will be the charm for Flat Rock Speedway’s Diamond Racing Joy Fair Memorial 100.  The race has now been rescheduled for Saturday, August 10.  The original date was June 22 and the second attempt was set for July 6.  Both dates were victims of heavy rains that have saturated the area in the past 3 weeks.

Toledo, Ohio--April 28, 2011:  The second season of the Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC) Summer Racing Series presented by Cumulus Radio will kick off at Toledo Speedway for the first event on Friday, May 6. The concept groups together 10 Friday night races at the Glass City oval.  The Toledo-area Cumulus Radio stations will provide the exposure for the Series throughout the 2011 season through on-air spots and various promotions, including live-radio remotes from various Valvoline Instant Oil Change locations.

1980-SENNEKER AND MALCUIT GRAB TOLEDO BIG BUCKS

Perennial favorite Bob Senneker and "Captain Sizzle" Mark Malcuit each posted $5000 victories by taking the 150-lap segments of the season-ending Gabriel 300 at Toledo Speedway. Track promoter Sonny Adams greeted the joyous winners on-track, paying each driver in fresh $100 bills in front of the huge, enthusiastic crowd on a beautiful fall Sunday afternoon.

Terri Adams-Sutherland, daughter of former Toledo Speedway owner Sonny Adams, passed away Friday May 7 at Mercy St. Anne Hospital in Toledo. Terri's brother Tommy Adams is an ARCA Truck Series driver and Toledo Speedway ARCA Sportsman division driver, and her nephew Landon Schuster is a Toledo Speedway ARCA Factory Stock driver. Terri also worked for her father as the office secretary at Toledo Speedway from 1984-1999. She is survived by her mother Mary; sons Craig and Cody Sutherland; sister Tammy (Mark) Schuster; brothers Tommy (Kim) Adams and Josh Adams; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services are at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe on Monday May 10.

TOLEDO, OH  (6-4-10) --  A great effort by the Toledo Speedway race teams kept the Wendy's Family Night and Autograph Night a happening for the fans that enjoyed meeting their favorite drivers and Wendy herself!  Jim Froling, Dennis Whisman, Cory McCaughey and Mike Marlow captured the feature race wins Friday evening.  They were greeted by Wendy in the Sunny D Winner's Circle.

While the Glass City 200 has been filled with prestige and notoriety over its 24 events, there is 1 accomplishment that ranks up near the top of all short track racing.  In the years 2002, 2003 and 2004, Saginaw, MI driver Steve Sauve became the second driver to win three Glass City 200 races.  What’s even more incredible is that the Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame member did it 3 years in a row!

(TOLEDO, Ohio—July 6, 2012) - Despite temperatures nearing the 100 degree mark and a searing sun, Harold Fair Jr. grabbed the victory in Friday night’s ARCA Allegiant Late Model Gold Cup 100 lap feature event.   Dennis Whisman took the 25 lap Road Course race, on a course that used parts of the ¼ mile, ½ mile and pit road.  The heat kept the crowd down but a hearty group of fans showed for the night of racing at the Glass City oval.

Flat Rock, MI (6-8-09)--  The name Joe Ruttman will be familiar to race fans from the late 1960's, 70's and 80's in Midwest stock car racing circles.  Ruttman was one of the top Late Model drivers, winning races at many tracks.  And now, at the invitation of Stan Yee Jr., Joe will return to drive one of the Yee Late Models for the Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday night, June 27. ...

(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - August 1, 2011) - In 1981, a group called the IRA Super Modifieds visited Flat Rock Speedway’s ¼ mile paved oval.  And now, after a 30 year absence, the Midwest Super Modified (MSA) Association will invade “The Rock” for their first-ever appearance.  The slow-slung, winged creations will shoot to break the absolute track record Saturday, August 20.

Race fans will also have the opportunity to meet NASCAR driver David Ragan, the winner of the July NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Daytona International Speedway and the pole sitter for last weekend’s Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  Ragan is in the area for the NASCAR race at Michigan International Speedway, where he will pilot car owner Jack Roush’s #6 Ford.

For many of the MSA Super Modified drivers and teams, this will be their first trip to the lightning-fast, 2-groove bowl.  Current point leader Trent Stephens, Lou Cicconi, Charlie Schultz, veteran Bobby Dawson and Tim Ice are all set for this big event.  Canadian hot shoe Mike Lichty is also expected to be at Flat Rock.

Condolences to the family of Ken Ahlgren Sr., former ARCA Figure-8 driver at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway and longtime supporter of his son Kenny Ahlgren's racing efforts. Ken Ahlgren Sr. died Monday October 17 after a lengthy illness at the age of 69. He is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Sheri and son Kenny (Penny), and two grandchildren. Per Ken's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.
