TOLEDO, Ohio (January 25, 2010)-- Due to economic, travel and scheduling issues, Toledo Speedway's annual "Fastest Short Track Show in the World" featuring an open-wheel doubleheader of supermodified and winged sprint competition will see a change in the lineup of tours participating in the June 11, 2010 event. The International Super Modified Association (ISMA) Series will not return but the Midwest Supermodified Association (MSA)/Oswego Winged Challenge Series will join the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Winged Super Sprints for the popular event.

TOLEDO, Ohio (January 21, 2010)--It's track announcer Gary Lindahl's classic line, "Look Out!" when the ARCA Figure 8's zip in and out of the intersection. Lindahl will have more of those blaring over the microphone as the increasing popularity of the Figure 8 Train races has prompted Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway management to schedule 7 of the events for the 2010 racing season.

TOLEDO, Ohio (January 19, 2010)--Congratulations to long-time ARCA car owner Robbie Martel of Westland, Michigan. Martel was named Mechanic of the Year by the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club at the organization's annual Awards Banquet and Dinner Dance on Saturday night, January 16.

Martel has owned Figure 8 cars driven by Robbie Loving at Flat Rock Speedway and Toledo Speedway for the past ten years. Loving, one of several ARCA Champions honored at the Awards Banquet, accepted the award on Martel's behalf.

THE LATE MODEL ALLIANCE is committed to preserving and maintaining outlaw super late model racing in the Midwest, as demonstrated by the support of these tracks and touring series that were present for this meeting. The group will keep in touch throughout the 2010 season and has agreed to meet again in October of 2010.

JACKSON, MI: (1-12-09): The Late Model Alliance, a group of 10 short tracks and 2 touring series that feature outlaw Super Late Model racing, met on a snowy and cold day January 7 at Charlie's Pub and Grill in Jackson, MI. The business is owned by former Late Model car owner Charlie Woodruff.

TOLEDO, Ohio (December 16, 2009)--The 2010 racing schedules for both Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway have been released today. Toledo will continue its Friday night weekly racing card with special weekend events also on the new slate for the 51st season of racing at the Glass City oval. Flat Rock kicks off its 58th consecutive season with its traditional Saturday night shows.

Having been a columnist since 1975, we have missed the writing for much of this last season, but We're Back!!!! The column is going to be the same it always was, not just about ARCA, Flat Rock or Toledo, but about all racing activity in the midwest.

On behalf of everyone at the tracks, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! The new schedules will be released yet this week-check the websites. There are a few changes, but we're still sorting things out and trying to make everything fit. It all looks good in December! As we did in 2009, we simply need to work together and continue to provide the great entertainment value through these tough times. TOLEDO, OH: (12-10-09): As winter sweeps its way into the Southeastern Michigan-Northern Ohio area, track officials are busy putting the final elements in place for the 2010 racing schedules for Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways. Toledo opens the new season Saturday, April 17 with a Late Model double-header featuring the ASA North Late Models and the ARCA Gold Cup Series, while Flat Rock jumps into action Saturday, April 24. The full schedules are slated to be released prior to the holidays.

ARCA officials have released the rule changes for the upcoming 2010 season for the 4 Cylinder class that competes at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways. 

Robert "Woody" Woodworth, age 65 of White Lake, MI passed away November 29, 2009.  Robert drove the #76 "Orange Moose" Street Stock in the 1970's.  He is survived by his wife Sharon, children Michael and Michele, father Wesley and brothers Terry Carl and Dan "Dusty" Rhodes.  Services were held yesterday.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.  Condolences can reach the family at http://www.lynchfamily/ FUNERALDirectors.com.
