Burge Wrecking Night of Destruction Lives Up To Billing

(TOLEDO, Ohio - May 28, 2010) - Great weather brought out a big crowd to Toledo Speedway Friday evening for the Burge Wrecking Night of Destruction.  Dave Arnold Sr., in his first action in a bus, took the win in the wreck-filled School Bus Figure 8 main event.

Arnold Sr. was the sole survivor in the bus contest, as plenty of thundering hits created heavy damage to the remaining 7 buses.  Even a sandwich crunch thrilled the crowd as Dennis Whisman rolled backwards and slammed into Anthony Terris while Jack Franzil pounded the other side of Anthony's bus, making for a big noise as the crowd screamed.  Joey Koester, Troy Herrmann, Howard Kelley Jr. and Randy Roberts were the other competitors.

Several other events were part of the evening.  John Rabideau won the Plywood contest, while Mike Hacker grabbed a pair of wins, topping the field in the back-up race and the Boat Figure 8 race.  Ramon Ortiz provided the entertainment in the Boat event as he crashed into several boats, dislodging them from their trailers.  Rabideau was second in the boats, third was Ortiz, fourth was Art Rozane and fifth was Andy Holly.  Holly won the race car bowling event.

The 15 lap Factory Stock Figure 8 was filled with close calls at the intersection and heavy traffic.  Through it all, Allen Bland Sr. took the win as he motored by Don Cox on lap 8 to win the race.  Third was Hacker, fourth was Rabideau and fifth went to Cory McClennan, followed by Brad Turner, Holly, AJ Padgett, Rozane, Randy Padgett, Bill Carberry and Ortiz.

The Figure 8 Train race went to the team of Adam Plonski and Chad Coutler.  9 teams took the green flag in the event, which consists of 2 cars chained together; the front one with the engine, the back car with the brakes.  The lead duo was strong the entire 15 laps.  Early in the contest, four trains got stuck together at the intersection!  The red flag came out when Andy Holly and Ron Duvall lost their chain, leaving Duvall in the middle of the intersection with no power.  On the restart, Plonski/Coulter took off on their way to the $750 payday.  Howard Kelley Jr./Tom O'Leary III were second, third was Tom O' Leary Jr./Jim Brazeau, fourth wqs Scott Apperson/Jeremy Fragassi and fifth was Tom O'Leary IV/Charlie O.  Kelly/Daren Koester, Holly/Duvall, Dennis Whisman/Dan Apperson and Jim Little/Anthony Camilli were next in line.
