Lots of Racing Still Left at Flat Rock; 100 Lap Street Stock, 50 Lap Figure 8 This Saturday
FLAT ROCK, MI: (8-19-09): With just 3 point races left in the 2009 season, the action is sure to heat up at Flat Rock Speedway. It picks up again this Saturday, August 22 with the 100 lap Street Stock race and a 50 lap Figure 8 main topping the slate, goes to August 29 with the return of the Late Models to the mix and culminates with the Season Championships September 5, complete with a Fireworks show!

Paul Pelletier won his first feature of the season and celebrated by doing a 'Polish Victory Lap'. "It was a good race. I had enough of those guys ... it was time to go and start winning races. I want to wish Allison a Happy Birthday. Also want to thank all my sponsors, ABC Plumbing, Jaimes Industries, Exotic Automation. Four Star Steel, Dusty's Collision and Berringer Law," said Pelletier. It was his fifth career win.
...Rain Can't Win at Toledo
TOLEDO, OH: (8-21-09): A hearty group of fans and race teams endured a nearly 1 hour rain delay Friday evening at Toledo Speedway. Just as the Glass Bowl Lanes Autograph session was concluding, the skies opened up, backing up the racing card. The program was altered to keep things moving and an action-packed night of racing took place. Terry Jones, Cory McCaughey, Ryan Beabout, Perry Marlow and Dennis Whisman took their respective features. Glass Bowl boss Ron Gorney presented trophies in the Glass Bowl Lanes Winner's Circle.
...Wild Night of Action at Flat Rock
FLAT ROCK, MI: (8-22-09): Red and yellow were the colors of the night Saturday at Flat Rock Speedway as numerous incidents throughout the night made for a long evening. A good crowd turned out for the Stoney Creek Auto Parts/Monroe Evening News Kid's Night on a cloudy and cool night. Dan Ford Jr., Jeremy Miller, Lonnie York and Chance Rice took their respective feature wins. Kevin Butzin of Stoney Creek presented the trophies to the victors.

...Toledo Speedway 50th Anniversary: A Look Back at 1960
Don Friend of Detroit, a newcomer to competition at the Toledo Speedway, quickly adapted to the new ½ mile high banked oval, taking the 20-lap supermodified main event. In doing so, Friend stopped the 4-race win streak of current point leader Al Beale of Toledo. Friend, at the wheel of a Cadillac-powered modified sprint, started last in 14th position, but moved quickly to the front to take the lead on lap 4. He went on to win by a healthy margin over Beale, Benny Rapp, Beanie Treen and Johnny Price. Rollie Beale led the 30 total cars in qualifying with a lap of 21.30 seconds. Rollie captured his heat and the Australian pursuit over his brother Al, but Al was not to be shut out as he won the 4-car dash.

Bob Keselowski ended a long victory dry spell at Toledo Speedway by taking the Snap On Tools 125 ARCA Permatex Supercar Series race. Keselowski, the 1983 Toledo Speedway late model division track champion, extended the string of consecutive races with different winners in the ARCA Series to 8 winners in as many races.

FLAT ROCK, MI: (8-29-09): Stan Yee Jr., Greg Studt, Regan Ford, Troy Brehmer and Brad Turner steered to victories on Glass Unlimited Night at Flat Rock Speedway. Walter Krause of Glass Unlimited presented the trophies and bonus money to the winners in post-race festivities on a very unseasonably cool August evening.

TOLEDO, OH: (9-1-09): Entry blanks are now ready for one of the most prestigious Super Late Model events in the Midwest, the Glass City 200, set for Saturday, October 3 at Toledo Speedway. The race will pay $5500 to the winner, with $1000 earmarked to start the 200 lap classic. With special awards and lap money on the line, a driver could walk away with over $7500 for his efforts.

1970-TOM BOWSHER CLAIMS FIRST EVER ARCA NEW CAR WIN
Tom Bowsher, brother of 3-time ARCA Series champion Jack Bowsher, wheeled his Ford to his career first victory at Toledo Speedway. Bowsherr led a majority of the 100-lap event on the high banked oval and survived a race-long duel with veteran Iggy Katona, who was 2nd. The race ended under caution, as Ross Smith blew a radiator hose on his Chevy Camaro and slammed into the fourth turn wall.

TOLEDO, OH: (9-11-09): Trenton, MI driver Paul Pelletier has filed the first entry for the 21st running of the Glass City 200 Late Model invitational presented by AP Motorsports, set for Saturday night, October 3 at Toledo Speedway. Defending race winner Harold Fair Jr. of Milan, MI and 2005 Glass City champ John Doering Jr. of Flushing, MI have also filed early entries for one of the most prestigious Super Late Model events in the Midwest.

FLAT ROCK, MI: (9-12-09): A standing-room only crowd packed Flat Rock Speedway Saturday night for the Grillers Select BBQ Sauce School Bus Figure 8 race show. Perfect weather greeted teams and fans and a great night of racing action, coupled with the destruction of the school buses capped off the event. Costa Cardasis of Grillers Select greeted the race winners with a case of bbq sauce and trophies, while providing numerous prizes for the lucky number program drawing.

Toledo Speedway 50th Anniversary: A Look Back at 1980
1980-SENNEKER AND MALCUIT GRAB TOLEDO BIG BUCKS
Perennial favorite Bob Senneker and "Captain Sizzle" Mark Malcuit each posted $5000 victories by taking the 150-lap segments of the season-ending Gabriel 300 at Toledo Speedway. Track promoter Sonny Adams greeted the joyous winners on-track, paying each driver in fresh $100 bills in front of the huge, enthusiastic crowd on a beautiful fall Sunday afternoon.
