TOLEDO, OH: (4-2-09): A name quite familiar to Toledo Speedway fans will provide title sponsorship for the ARCA Glass City Gold Cup Late Model Series in 2009. The Hantz Group, a financial services company, will join with Allegiant Air to present the 5-race Gold Cup Series this season. The schedule features 2 races at Flat Rock Speedway and 3 events at Toledo for the upcoming season.

FLAT ROCK, MI: (6-13-09): A dismal-looking day ended in sunshine and a packed house for the Marco's Pizza School Bus Figure 8 races Saturday evening at Flat Rock Speedway. Jeff Kurzyniec scored the victory in the wild Bus race, Dave Arnold Jr. topped the Factory Stock feature, Chance Rice notched the win in the Michigan Legends race, Shawn Bershback was victorious in the 4 Cylinder show and Lonnie York thrilled the crowd with his win in the Rollover contest.

Australian Andrew Hagen has begun to make a name for himself in the short track racing world after competing successfully for Brad Keselowski Racing (BKR) in the first two Super Late Model Series events of his career. FLAT ROCK, MI: (6-24-09): A total of 29 Late Models practiced at Flat Rock Speedway Wednesday evening in preparation for the prestigious Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 Saturday night, June 27. The list now stands at 37 pre-entries, with the additions led by 4-time Flat Rock champ Dave Kuhlman. Grand Rapids-area hotshoe Mike Root has also filed his entry for the biggest race of the season at the ¼ mile paved oval.

TOLEDO, OH: (6-30-09): The entry lists for both the USAC National Sprint and Midget Series event at Toledo Speedway are taking shape as the Friday, July 3 race at Toledo Speedway nears. 1996 Indy 500 winning car owner, Ron Hemelgarn, and his Hemelgarn Racing Team will sponsor the race along with Super Fitness.

It has been six years since there have been over 40 super late models at Flat Rock Speedway, but 42 made their way to the track for the Stan Yee Memorial race, which was part of the Hantz Group (presented by Allegiant Air) Gold Cup series. For the last four years the Gold Cup races have been at held Toledo ... the last one run at Flat Rock was in 2005.

Maran Wins Great Flat Rock Enduro 250
FLAT ROCK, MI: (7-4-09): Jeff Maran took advantage of a blocked track at lap 209 after a sensational battle with Dave Arnold Jr. for over 100 laps and sped to victory and the $1000 payday in Saturday night's 250 lap Enduro race at Flat Rock Speedway. Eric Hoffman captured the MCR Dwarf Car feature, Brad Turner took the ARCA 4 Cylinder main and Steve Matusiewicz won the Figure 8 Boat race as the track celebrated the 4th of July holiday.

...Action and Fireworks Feed Flat Rock Fans
FLAT ROCK, MI: (7-11-09): If you were looking for Saturday night, action-packed short track racing and a great fireworks display to top things off, then Flat Rock Speedway was the deal! The annual Miller Lite Triple 50's and Fireworks show had plenty of both, with Tim Moore, Darrell Krause, Eric Lee and Billy Earley taking the feature race wins. A great crowd, bolstered by free admission for kids 14 and under, was treated to a spectacular pyrotechnics show under the direction of the Volcano Fireworks Company to end the evening.

Toledo Speedway held its first extra-distance affair of the season and it was the "Bluebird" Bob Senneker taking the twin 50-lap features in his signature late model #84. Senneker, a frequent Toledo Speedway visitor, has tasted success consistently at Toledo as well as in major high-dollar payout late model races throughout the Midwest US and Canada.

TOLEDO, OH: (8-5-09): NASCAR star Kyle Busch, already set to compete in the Allen Chevrolet Cadillac/Crown RV and Boat Cleaner 100 at Toledo Speedway Friday, August 14, will also sign autographs at the Glass City oval. Busch will race in the CRA Super Series Late Model 100 lap contest on the ½ mile paved oval.

...Hantz Owns Toledo; Captures CRA Event
TOLEDO, OH: (8-14-09): For the most part, the large crowd that ventured to Toledo Speedway came to see NASCAR star Kyle Busch. Scott Hantz had his own ideas and has a big fan following that cheered him on, however, as Hantz made it 4 for 4 at the Glass City oval by capturing the Allen Chevrolet/Crown RV and Boat Cleaner 100 for the CRA Super Series Late Models. John Ogren of Allen presented the trophy and Hantz climbed the fence after his win as the crowd roared.

TOLEDO OH (3-31-08)--There's something about walking into Frenchtown Square Mall in Monroe and Westfield Franklin Park in Toledo at this time of year and seeing the freshly-painted, sharp-looking race cars on display in the concourse, signaling the fast-approaching racing seasons at Flat Rock Speedway and Toledo Speedway.
Well, maybe everyone doesn't get quite as excited as the rest of us, but fans, officials and race teams are getting ready to go as both mall shows this past weekend stirred the thoughts of burning rubber as ARCA's short tracks get ready to kick off their 2008 racing seasons. Healthy crowds visited the two venues this past weekend, while more than 75 drivers were seen roaming the malls, checking out the new paint schemes and bench racing with their fellow racers and teams as curious mall patrons checked out the cars that dotted the mall concourses.
