ALLEN-STUDT-WHISMAN-O’LEARY/McCLURE ROLL TO GLASS BOWL LANES WINS
(TOLEDO, Ohio - August 19, 2011) - A beautiful evening of sunshine and clear skies greeted a nice crowd for the Glass Bowl Lanes Autograph Night at Toledo Speedway Friday evening. One of the largest Autograph Night crowds in recent years arrived early enough to venture out onto the track to meet the drivers during the Glass Bowl Lanes Autograph session prior to the racing card.
Ron Allen, Greg Studt, Dennis Whisman and the duo of Tom O’Leary IV and James McClure visited the Sun Drop Winner’s Circle after their feature wins. Ron Gorney and Ron Schultz represented the Glass Bowl Lanes.
...FLAT ROCK ACTION HALTED BY RAIN AGAIN
Flat Rock, Michigan—August 20, 2011: For the second week in a row, Flat Rock Speedway’s racing program was cancelled due to rain. The MSA Super Modifieds were at the track for their first appearance in 30 years, but Mother Nature put a stop to the action.
The MSA event will not be rescheduled for this year, as the season enters its final weeks. The group will, however, be part of the 2012 Flat Rock schedule of events. NASCAR driver David Ragan was also slated to be at the track, and the Parts Galore Figure 8’s and DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks were ready for action until the rain set in about 5 minutes into the qualifying session. The track has encountered rain 4 of the last 5 Saturday nights.
Saturday, August 27 is the Corrigan Oil Kids Night. All children to age 14 will be admitted FREE when accompanied by an adult, and will also receive a FREE hot dog, chips and a drink, courtesy of Sherwood Foods, Jim’s Butcher Shop, Seyfert’s Snacks and the Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group. Parents should pick up a child’s ticket/food voucher at the ticket window upon arrival to the track.
The MCR Dwarf Cars will pay a visit to “The Rock” and will be joined by the Parts Galore Figure 8’s, DTS Drive Train Specialists and the Jeff’s Collision 4 Cylinders.
Tickets from Leppen Chiropractic, UAW Local 3000 and the United Way of Monroe County dated from the August 13 rain-out will be honored August 27 only. Those tickets must be exchanged at the ticket windows.

Toledo Adds Popular Road Course Race To Wendy’s Night Of Destruction Event
(TOLEDO, Ohio - August 18, 2011) - Toledo Speedway officials have made the decision to add the increasingly-popular Road Course race to the list of events that will make up the Wendy’s Hamburgers “Night of Destruction”, set for Friday evening, September 2. The road course layout uses turns 3 and 4 of the high-banked ½ mile, part of the short track, which is the location of the chicane and all of pit road!

...TOLEDO POLICE, FIRE GROUPS TO CONDUCT PRE-RACE TICKET SALE FUNDRAISER FOR SEPTEMBER 11 EVENT
(TOLEDO, Ohio - August 15, 2011) - The Toledo Police Patrolmen’s Association and the Toledo Fire Department will conduct a pre-race ticket sale for the Sunday, September 11 Stars and Stripes 100 stock car race at Toledo Speedway. The pre-sale will serve as a fundraiser, with 50% of the pre-race sale proceeds to be donated to the 2 groups.
The announcement was made today at a press conference held at the Toledo Police Museum, with officials from the Toledo Police, Toledo Firefighters and Toledo Speedway on hand. The pre-sale tickets may be purchased from any City police or fire station location. Tickets are $20 each.
Tickets may be obtained at the following locations; The Toledo Police Museum, 2201 Kenwood Blvd. at Ottawa Park; the Toledo Firefighters Museum, 918 W. With the severe storm that moved in on Flat Rock Speedway Saturday night, a few details have now been taken care of in regard to the lucky number program prize winners (including the MIS tickets) and the Flat Rock Band Boosters 50/50 raffle tickets.
The 50/50 raffle tickets purchased Saturday, August 13 will roll over to the August 20 drawing at the track. Refunds for raffle tickets purchased will be given if desired. Fans just need to bring their 50/50 stubs with them the next time they arrive at the speedway when they redeem their rain checks.
