STRICKLAND, FELVER ENTER GREAT LAKES HELICOPTERS GLASS CITY 200
(TOLEDO, Ohio - September 14, 2011) - 2011 ARCA Allegiant Gold Cup champion Dennis Strickland and 1999 race winner Tim Felver lead the list of early entries for the 23rd running of the Great Lakes Helicopters Glass City 200, set for Saturday, October 1 at Toledo Speedway. Over $50,000 in cash has been posted for the event, which includes features for the Figure 8’s, Street Stocks and Sportsman classes in addition to the 200 lap classic.
...ARCA Member Greg Luttman Passes
Greg Luttman, age 50 of Dearborn, whose brothers Jerry Lee and Richie Lee are active in the ARCA Figure-8 division at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways, died Sunday Sept. 11 after a lengthy illness. Greg is also survived by daughter Alicia Luttman, mother Cynthia Lee, brothers Larry Luttman and Terry Luttman and sister Cheryl Juliano. Visitation is Wednesday Sept. 14 from 2-4 p.m. with funeral service at 4 p.m. at the Allen Park Chapel of Voran Funeral Home, 5900 Allen Rd, Allen Park MI (313) 928-2300.

...Loving and Vanderhoof Have Strong Showing at Indy
(TOLEDO, Ohio - September 13, 2011) - Robbie Loving and Jeremy Vanderhoof took part in the 2011 World Figure 8 Championship at the Speedrome in Indianapolis. Robbie, a regular at Toledo and Flat Rock Speedways, finished 4th in the 3 hour long feature. Jeremy, the 2011 Champion at both Toledo and Flat Rock Speedways became the 2011 World Figure 8 SuperStock Champion with a 9th place finish in the feature and also won a qualifying race. Track officials would like to congratulate Robbie and Jeremy on their finishes at the World Championships.

The Toledo Speedway wives and mechanics races are set for Saturday, September 24.

RAIN HALTS TOLEDO’S 9-11 EVENT; STRICKLAND, HUSTON COLLECT TITLES
(TOLEDO, Ohio - September 12, 2011) - A pair of rain delays prior to the start of the Sunday afternoon race card at Toledo Speedway cancelled activities for the day. The ARCA Truck Series and ARCA R & M Recycling Street Stocks had completed their qualifying before two delays for rain stopped the action.
Many activities were planned to pay tribute in honor of the 9-11 tragedy and those who protect and serve us here and abroad, but they, too, were washed out.
...FLAT ROCK SCHOOL BUS RACE RE-SET FOR THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17
The wives and mechanics race originally scheduled for this Saturday have now been moved to Saturday, October 8, which is the final event of the season at the track. The Michigan Legends event will not be rescheduled.
The pit area opens at 4 p.m. this Saturday, and the ticket office will also open at 4 p.m. The front gates open at 4:30, practice begins at 5 and racing starts at 7 p.m.
Tickets purchased for last Saturday’s show will be honored this Saturday night. In the event that pre-sale ticket purchasers cannot attend the September 17 event, refunds will be given after this Saturday night’s race by calling the track.
Some reserved seating still remains and can be obtained by calling the track at 734-782-2480. Most major credit cards are accepted for phone orders. For additional information, log onto www.flatrockspeedway.com.

However, for local area race fans, there'll be plenty of short track action at Toledo Speedway this Sunday where the final round of the five-race ARCA Allegiant Glass City Gold Cup Outlaw Late Model series will come to life on the Toledo high banks.
JR ROAHRIG RETURNS TO TOLEDO FOR SUNDAY’S ALLEGIANT GOLD CUP FINALE’
(TOLEDO, Ohio - September 7, 2011) - Toledo July race winner JR Roahrig of Plymouth, IN has filed his entry for Sunday’s EarSmart Stars and Stripes 100 presented by the Toledo Blade and Cumulus Radio at Toledo Speedway. The Toledo Police Patrolmen’s Association and the Toledo Fire Department are conducting a pre-race ticket sale for the Sunday, September 11 event. The pre-sale will serve as a fundraiser, with 50% of the pre-race sale proceeds to be donated to the 2 groups.
