FLAT ROCK, TOLEDO SPEEDWAY WEATHER UPDATES FOR APRIL 28-29 EVENTS
We’re watching the weather, just like you. Based on the forecasts, and if they are correct, here’s what we can tell you as of 11 a.m. Friday morning, April 27.
FLAT ROCK SPEEDWAY
We will make a decision no later than Noon Saturday, April 28 on the Season Opener.
TOLEDO SPEEDWAY
For Saturday’s schedule, the plan remains in place. Regardless of the weather, we will park rigs, sell pit passes, tires and fuel and do tech inspection (both groups).
IF we do not get on the track Saturday for practice, we will refund you $10 from your pit pass fee.
Again, IF we do not get on the track, we will add a small amount of time to each practice session. Start times for Sunday will remain the same: Pits: 9 a.m.Practice:11 a.m.
Keep up to date on things at www.flatrockspeedway.com or www.toledospeedway.com., or like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/toledoflatrock or follow us on Twitter @toledospeedway or @flatrockspeed. Sunday’s forecast is promising! Sunny skies, mid 50’s……
...I-75 CONSTRUCTION WARNING!
For those race fans and race teams that use I-75 to get to Flat Rock and/or Toledo Speedway, beware! BOTH I-75 Northbound and Southbound will be CLOSED this Friday, April 27 at 9 p.m. until Sunday, April 29 at 9 p.m.
The closures are at the Schaefer-Fort St. exit to the north and goes all the way to the Gibraltar Road exit to the south.
MDOT is demolishing bridges in that area. Here’s the fun part. Both Telegraph Road just north of Flat Rock and parts of Fort St. (both north-south roads) are also under construction!
A suggestion---take I-275 to I-75 on the way to Toledo. For Flat Rock, take I-275 to exit 8, Will Carleton Road. Head east 5 miles and it dead-ends into Telegraph. Go south or right 1 mile to the track.

TERRY SENNEKER SIGNS UP FOR TOLEDO ALLEGIANT GOLD CUP RACE
(TOLEDO, Ohio - April 25, 2012) - Wayland, MI driver Terry Senneker has inked his entry for this Sunday’s ARCA Allegiant Gold Cup 100 lap event at Toledo Speedway, which is one half of the 7-Up Twin 100’s at the ½ mile paved oval. The ARCA/CRA Super Series Late Models will also be in competition with a separate 100 lap event for the stock-bodied Late Models.
...RE-START PROCEDURE CHANGE-FLAT ROCK AND TOLEDO SPEEDWAYS
April 25, 2012: After hearing your comments at both practice sessions this past Saturday and Sunday, the double-file re-start procedure has been adjusted. Simply, lapped cars will fall to the back before racing goes back to green, and the first car a lap down will receive the “Lucky Dog”, putting them on the lead lap.
This applies to all divisions, including Gold Cup. The complete procedure follows:
Each class will now include double-file restarts. The following details the procedure.
Under caution, cars will remain in single file order. When the track is cleared to resume racing, drivers will be instructed as follows (by spotters in Late Models and Sportsman, by scanner/Raceceiver in Figure 8, Street Stock, 4 Cylinders):
1. When instructed by Tower/Spotter Stand/Flagstand Official, the first car a lap down will be given the “lucky dog” and will be instructed to progress forward at a safe speed until they have come around to the tail of the field, thereby getting their lap back. Lapped cars will then be instructed to pull to the outside lane in the order they are running and drop to the back, single file behind the last lead-lap car.
2. When instructed by Tower/Spotter Stand/Flagstand Officials, after all lapped cars have lined up behind lead lap cars, the cars will then double up to prepare for the green flag restart. CARS 1st, 3rd, 5th and odd numbered restart positions will be in the inside lane, and 2nd, 4th, 6th and even numbered restart positions will be in the outside lane. LAP DOWN CARS will double up from the order they are in single file alternating inside/outside behind the lead lap cars.
