All American Coach “Fastest Short Track Show In World” Hits Toledo June 15

(TOLEDO, Ohio - May 31, 2012) - It’s the race that’s described by race fans as a “can’t miss race, you have to see it in person” and on and on.  It’s the All American Coach “Fastest Short Track Show in the World,” starring the Town Money Saver MSA Winged Super Modifieds and the winged Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints (AVBBSS)!  Created by Toledo track management, the event has become one of the top open-wheel pavement races in the country.  Time trials have taken on a name of its own, as the 2 groups vie for supremacy---who has the fastest race car on the planet!  The date is Friday, June 15.

Defending race winners for the All American Coach Fastest Short Track Show in the World are veteran Bobby Dawson in the MSA Super Modifieds and hometown favorite Jimmy McCune for the AVBBSS Sprints.

Arriving early to see practice and perhaps the most exciting qualifying session at a short track in the nation is a must!  If the track record is to be broken this year, it will take an unprecedented effort!  In the 2011 time trials, an incredible lap of 12:389 was set by AVBBSS Sprint driver Charlie Schultz in a car fielded by Dick Myers.

With the pedal to the metal, and everyone on the track grounds holding their breath, Schultz ripped off a lap that will be etched in the minds of race fans for many years to come!  And an amazing 7 drivers dipped into the 12 second bracket on the lightning-fast ½ mile paved oval!  Schultz also established another milestone in this classic event by also setting fast time for the MSA Super Modifieds.

img9840.jpgThe MSA Super Modifieds ran their 40 lap feature without a yellow flag in the 2011 edition of the event, as Bobby Dawson grabbed the win in a record 9 minutes and 34 seconds.  Schultz and Johnny Benson were on the move as the laps wound down but ran out of time.

Schultz came from the 10th starting spot and had the lead in the Sprint feature  by lap 14, only to have a tire go flat the next lap.  Toledo native Jimmy McCune picked up the point and sped to the very popular victory in the 30 lap main event.
