(Toledo, Ohio - August 30, 2013) - The large crowd that ventured to Toledo Speedway Friday for the Wendy’s Hamburgers “Night of Destruction” got what they came for and more!  A wild and entertaining night of action and thrills put the exclamation mark on the evening, which included the track’s ARCA ACME Dismantling Sportsman division championship event. 

Representing the Toledo-area and surrounding Wendy’s franchises, Wendy was busy all night, greeting fans, presenting trophies and she also sang both the Canadian and our National Anthem! 

For the first time, the Sportsman class competed as part of the Night of Destruction race card.  Ron Allen captured the 40 lap Championship race, the final point event of the season.  A very competitive chase for the lead saw Ron Allen hold on for the win over Mike Young, Kyle DeLisle Jr., Howard Kelley Jr., Jim Froling, Greg Stilwell, Jeff Myers Jr., Chad Stilwell, Kenny McKay Jr., Dan Grigsby, Norm Lewallen, David Frantz, Kent McCloskey, Andy Harding and Rich Abel.  Froling captured the 2013 track championship, edging out DeLisle Jr., Allen, McKay Jr. and Young for the honor.  Kelley Jr. and Myers Jr. took the heat wins.  DeLisle Jr. set quick time at 17:447.

Tuesday, September 24:  9 a.m. to 1 p.m; (room for 4 cars)

Tuesday, September 24:  1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (room for 2 cars)

Up to 4 cars per block, 1 car at a time on the track.

Toledo, Ohio—September 17, 2013:  Preparations continue as the 25^th Anniversary of the Great Lakes Helicopter Glass City 200 nears!   Lap money sponsorship at just $10 per lap will go to the leader of each lap in the 200 lap race.  And, some reserved seat tickets still remain for the season-ending event, set for Saturday, September 28.  The race is being co-sponsored by Francis Engineering, Woodville Auto Finance, Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express.

The lap money sponsorship list will be posted on the track’s webpage.  Sponsors will also get public address mentions during the event and a listing will appear in the track’s special souvenir program for this race.

Reserved seat tickets feature seating in the center grandstand, directly behind the start-finish line.  The seats have backrests attached with additional leg room in the section.

Perfect weather conditions greeted race teams for a quick 2-hour practice session leading up to tomorrow’s Great Lakes Helicopter Glass City 200 outlaw Late Model race.  Johnny VanDoorn led the 33 cars at the track, clicking off a lap of 14:973. 

The top ten cars in the practice session are VanDoorn, Jeff Ganus, Brian Ross, Johnny Belott, Harold Fair Jr., Jake Francis, Terry Senneker Jr., Brent Jack, Dennis Strickland and Scott Hantz.  All practice times can be viewed by logging onto www.toledospeedway.com.

One of the pre-race favorites, Ross, driving Bob Blount’s #16 has scratched due to engine trouble.

The car #41 entry from Wisconsin has not arrived at the track, while Jimmy Thiel, at the wheel of the late Bob Ward’s #6 encountered engine trouble and has scratched for the weekend.  Steve Cronenwett Jr.’s #88 also had mechanical issues, and the team is going home and loading up another car to compete in the 200. 

The race day schedule has the pit area opening at 9:30 a.m., practice begins at Noon, time trials are set for 3 and racing begins at 5 p.m. The front gates will be open to watch practice during the afternoon; at 2:30, the grandstands will be cleared and tickets will go on sale.

Any remaining reserved seat tickets and all general admission and kids tickets will go on sale when the ticket office opens at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Flat Rock, Michigan—April 24, 2013:  Rain and wet grounds has forced the cancellation of today’s practice session at Flat Rock Speedway.  There will be no activity at all as the rain continues to fall.

Speedway officials have opted to open 1 hour earlier on Saturday, April 27 for the Jet’s Pizza Season Opening Night show. 

The pit area will now open at 12:30, practice begins at 2, time trials are set for 5:15 and racing begins at 7 p.m.

Race teams are reminded to get to the track early to get through technical inspection.  Race time is 7 p.m. sharp.

FLAT ROCK, MI: (8-15-09): A large crowd turned out to meet NASCAR driver David Ragan Saturday night as part of the Leppen Chiropractic/United Way of Monroe County Night at Flat Rock Speedway. Ragan spoke to the crowd and signed autographs for over an hour. On the track, Paul Pelletier, Robbie Loving, Dan Ford Jr. and Jimmy Rae notched feature wins. Former racers were introduced to the crowd and several vintage race cars took laps prior to the start of the race card. A large contingent of firefighters from Monroe County was on hand as guests of the speedway.

1970-TOM BOWSHER CLAIMS FIRST EVER ARCA NEW CAR WIN

Tom Bowsher, brother of 3-time ARCA Series champion Jack Bowsher, wheeled his Ford to his career first victory at Toledo Speedway. Bowsherr led a majority of the 100-lap event on the high banked oval and survived a race-long duel with veteran Iggy Katona, who was 2^nd. The race ended under caution, as Ross Smith blew a radiator hose on his Chevy Camaro and slammed into the fourth turn wall.

TOLEDO, OH: (9-17-09): There are only two-3 time winners of the prestigious Glass City 200 events in the 20 year history of the season-ending classic at Toledo Speedway. And there is only 1 driver that has won the Late Model invitational race 3 times in a row! TOLEDO, Ohio (January 25, 2010)-- Due to economic, travel and scheduling issues, Toledo Speedway's annual "Fastest Short Track Show in the World" featuring an open-wheel doubleheader of supermodified and winged sprint competition will see a change in the lineup of tours participating in the June 11, 2010 event. The International Super Modified Association (ISMA) Series will not return but the Midwest Supermodified Association (MSA)/Oswego Winged Challenge Series will join the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Winged Super Sprints for the popular event.

Long time Flat Rock Speedway ARCA Street Stock driver Jim Stocker passed away Wednesday, March 3. Stocker faithfully made the long tow from his home in Clarkston to race weekly at Flat Rock for some 20 years, resulting in two ARCA Street Stock B Main championships and many B Main feature wins at the wheel of his car #46. Stocker had recently been diagnosed with cancer and suffered a fatal heart attack. Per his wishes, there will be no memorial and cremation has taken place.
