Interest and Purse Grows for Moran Chevy/Stan Yee Memorial 150 at Flat Rock

FLAT ROCK, MI (6-9-2008)-- Flat Rock Speedway’s biggest Late Model race of the season, the Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150, set for Saturday, June 21 has now taken a step up in purse money. The Yee family and friends have stepped forward to add additional monies to the event. Yee, a hugely successful car owner for over 40 years, passed away May 18, just 2 days shy of his 76th birthday. His son, Stan Jr., is a weekly competitor in the Late Model division at “The Rock”.

Froling Foils the Field at Toledo; Apperson Takes First Ever Win

TOLEDO, OH (6-6-2008)-- Mother Nature again played a part in Toledo Speedway’s Friday night race card. With a good crowd on hand for the Roadway Express/Utility Trailer/Teamsters Local 20 Kids Night, the program moved very quickly as the weather moved in. With severe weather approaching, the night was called complete just as the storm warning sirens in the city wailed. Before that, over 500 kids enjoyed a free hot dog, drink and chips, courtesy of Sherwood Foods, 7-Up and Seyfert’s Snacks. Jim Froling took the Sportsman win, Scott Apperson took his first-ever Figure 8 victory and Dave Arnold Jr. was the winner in the rain-shortened Factory Stock race. The Factory Stock B Main and the 4 Cylinder feature that did not run will be added to the June 20 race card.

Toledo Action Beats the Rain--Almost

TOLEDO, OH (5-30-2008)-- Despite threatening weather looming in the distance and the usual lousy forecast, Toledo Speedway was able to complete all but 1 race on Armed Forces Appreciation Night. The Friday night show was completed with the exception of the 10 lap Factory Stock B Main. Howard Kelley Jr., Jeremy Vanderhoof and Cory McCaughey posted feature wins before the rains hit the track.

ARCA Iron Man Allen Makes 100; Congrats!

TOLEDO OH (5-27-08) - If milestones in motorsports matter, then ARCA veteran Ron Allen has met a major one.

The longtime Lincoln Park, Michigan ARCA racer earned his 100th career ARCA-sanctioned victory Sunday night at Toledo Speedway with a win in the ARCA National City Bank Sportsman division. TOLEDO OH (5-25-2008)--  Harold Fair Jr. powered his way to victory in Sunday night’s ARCA Allegiant Air Glass City Gold Cup Late Model feature at Toledo Speedway.  The evening, sponsored by the Toledo area UAW Cap Council, also had Ron Allen score his 100th ARCA win in the ARCA National City Bank Sportsman win, while Adam Roberts took the Michigan Legends Car feature.  Bill Daniels, representing the Cap Council, presented the trophies to the winners.

Buses Thrill Toledo Crowd

Toledo, OH 5-23-2009-- The Seyfert’s Snacks “Night of Destruction” lived up to its billing Friday evening at Toledo Speedway as heavy hitting was the name of the game in the School Bus Figure 8 contest. A good crowd turned out to kick off the Memorial Day holiday weekend. John Wieck of Seyfert’s greeted the crowd and presented trophies to the winners in the Glass Bowl Lanes Winner’s Circle. Track announcer Gary Lindahl introduced Factory Stock racer Andy Holly to the crowd. Andy is leaving for Iraq Saturday, and he received a standing ovation.
