TOLEDO, Ohio (December 16, 2009)--The 2010 racing schedules for both Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway have been released today. Toledo will continue its Friday night weekly racing card with special weekend events also on the new slate for the 51st season of racing at the Glass City oval. Flat Rock kicks off its 58th consecutive season with its traditional Saturday night shows.

Having been a columnist since 1975, we have missed the writing for much of this last season, but We're Back!!!! The column is going to be the same it always was, not just about ARCA, Flat Rock or Toledo, but about all racing activity in the midwest.

There are a few changes, but we're still sorting things out and trying to make everything fit. It all looks good in December! TOLEDO, OH: (12-10-09): As winter sweeps its way into the Southeastern Michigan-Northern Ohio area, track officials are busy putting the final elements in place for the 2010 racing schedules for Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways. Toledo opens the new season Saturday, April 17 with a Late Model double-header featuring the ASA North Late Models and the ARCA Gold Cup Series, while Flat Rock jumps into action Saturday, April 24. The full schedules are slated to be released prior to the holidays.

Robert "Woody" Woodworth, age 65 of White Lake, MI passed away November 29, 2009.  Robert drove the #76 "Orange Moose" Street Stock in the 1970's.  He is survived by his wife Sharon, children Michael and Michele, father Wesley and brothers Terry Carl and Dan "Dusty" Rhodes.  Services were held yesterday.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.  Condolences can reach the family at http://www.lynchfamily/ FUNERALDirectors.com.

TOLEDO, OH: (11-30-09): The famed Glass City 200 Super Late Model invitational held at Toledo Speedway will remain on the first Saturday of October for the 2010 season. The 22nd running of the 200 lap event will be held Saturday, October 2 at the ultra-fast ½ mile paved oval.

TOLEDO, OHIO (November 19, 2009)--Toledo Speedway will open its 2010 racing season with a Late Model doubleheader Saturday, April 17, featuring the ASA North Late Models and the ARCA Gold Cup Late Models. Ron Varney, President of ASA Late Models, will serve as the promoter of the event. The rain date is Sunday afternoon, April 18.

SOUTHGATE, Michigan (November 6, 2009)--Race teams, officials, family and friends met Friday evening for the annual Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways banquet, held at the elegant Crystal Gardens Banquet Center in Southgate, MI. The evening was hosted by track announcer Gary Lindahl. All the track champions received their championship jackets as ARCA President Ron Drager led the toast to the champions.

Flat Rock's ARCA Moran Chevrolet/Miller Lite Late Models saw second-generation driver Eric Lee claim his second Flat Rock Late Model crown in a row and his third over-all. Eric and his car owner, his father Steve, who also is a past Flat Rock Late Model champ, accepted the championship trophies and a check for $2000. 2007 champ Dennis Strickland, Ron Allen, Paul Pelletier, Steve Cronenwett Jr., Dick Barker, Stan Yee, Chris Benson, Joe Hawes and Dan Trosen Jr. rounded out the top 10 point men for 2008. Kevin Butzin was the Rookie of the Year, while Trosen Jr. notched Sportsmanship honors. Pat Moran of Moran Chevrolet presented the trophies and checks to the drivers.
