Kody Swanson Looks to Extend Historic Streak | 8/5 at Toledo Speedway

July 21, 2023 -- This weekend in Flat Rock, Brian Bergakker looks to take his fifth consecutive Moran Chevrolet Stan Yee 150 presented by DTS Drive Train Specialists and FRAZA on Saturday night.

No driver has won this event more than the Middleville, Michigan driver, as he has captured four consecutive victories in the 150 lap feature (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022).

In 2021, Bergakker swept the two crown jewel Moran Chevrolet Outlaw Super Late Model races at Flat Rock, the DTS Drive Train Specialists Joy Fair 100 and the Moran Chevrolet Stan Yee 150. In 2022, he did it again. On Saturday Night, July 22nd 2023, he could make it an unprecedented three-peat.

Bergakker comes in as a heavy favorite, taking a wild stretch of victories and cementing his name in the record books at one of the most storied tracks in the region.
Sound familiar?

Between Flat Rock and Toledo, two drivers are currently looking to cement their legacies as drivers who are associated with some of the biggest races at both tracks, with a hungry pack looking to change the narrative and break the streak for the first time in a long time.

Kody Swanson has become synonymous with open-wheel racing at Toledo Speedway over the past few years. The California State University grad has become a mainstay in Monroe Asphalt Winners Circle, taking wins in every USAC Silver Crown Series race at Toledo since 2017.

On August 5th in Toledo, Swanson looks to take his fifth consecutive Hemelgarn/SuperFitness Rollie Beale Classic 100 Presented by Marco's Pizza.

Swanson is looking to win in multiple divisions this year at Toledo.

On June 18th, 2023 the Kingsburg, California-native came to Toledo as a part of the 500 Sprint Car Tour’s first ever race at Toledo Speedway.

Swanson drove from starting seventh and took the lead on lap 5 from Dakoda Armstrong. He would drive away afterwards, winning over Tyler Roahrig, Bobby Santos III, Dakoda Armstrong, and Kaylee Bryson.

In the USAC Silver Crown division, he’s had a very strong season so far.

He’s picked up six Rollie Beale Classic victories, including an emotional win last year where he took the all-time record for USAC National features at Toledo Speedway over Rollie Beale.

Lofted by two consecutive wins in Madison and Winchester, Swanson currently leads the season point standings by a slim margin over Logan Seavey and Kaylee Bryson. The series is heading into their sixth race of the season, with the median event of Toledo being the third pavement race in a row for the Silver Crown division of drivers.

Swanson is looking to take his third consecutive championship this year in the Silver Crown division, a record streak that has only been accomplished by Swanson. In a racing division more than fifty years old, no driver has more wins than Swanson (39), or season championships (7).

Swanson tops a USAC Silver Crown wins list that includes a monolith of the greatest drivers of all time - drivers like Kyle Larson, Kasey Kahne, JJ Yeley, Ryan Newman, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, and Mario Andretti have all taken wins. None have as many as Swanson.

Swanson looks to take his record 40th USAC Silver Crown win at Toledo on August 5th.

To the rest of the USAC Silver Crown field, they look to take a big Rollie Beale Classic win, and break the streak.
