JR BUNTING PASSES AWAY (Updated 1-22-14)
Former ARCA/Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway Figure 8 driver JR Bunting passed away this weekend. Bunting, age 62, competed in the division in the late 1960’s and 1970’s in his familiar #34 machines.
JR was the father of Josh and Matt Bunting, both ARCA/Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway Factory Stock and Street Stock drivers. JR was a fixture at both tracks each and every event, rarely missing a race and always there to support his sons.
Services will be held at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from noon to 4pm on Saturday, January 25 and the service will follow at 4pm. Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home is located on 1163 West Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH 43612.
