Toledo Speedway

This is our first bulletin of the off-season.  We’ll do one each month through March of 2014.  We are working on the schedules and should be ready to release them by the first of January.  The winter office for both tracks is at Toledo; 419-727-1100.  The bulletins will be posted on the website and sent to our email list; if you are not on the email list, call us at 419-727-1100 or email cwagner@arcaracing.com and we will add your name!

The rules updates for each class were posted and sent out at the beginning of November. The Enduro updates were posted on the website today; the rules/entry form for the Enduro races will be mailed out in January.  The 4 Cylinder class will not return in 2014, but the cars are eligible to run the Enduro, X Cars and the “fun” races.

*Enduro drivers will be required to be ARCA members in 2014.  See the rule update sheet posted

Toledo’s first race is Saturday, April 12, with a 150 lap race for the ARCA/CRA Super Series/ARCA Midwest Tour Late Models.  An open practice is set for Friday, April 11.  Any car may take part in the practice day on Friday.  Open practice will also take place Sunday, April 27.  The first Friday night show is May 9.

Flat Rock will open Saturday, April 26.  *There is only 1 pre-season practice this season.  Pre-season practice is Saturday, April 19; NOTE THE TIME CHANGE:  11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Tech will stay open until 5:30 that day.  The practice rain date is Wednesday, April 23, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Glass City 200 date has been moved up a week to Saturday, September 20.

THANK YOU, WILD BILL!  Wild Bill Barnhart, our Flat Rock photographer and lineup man at Flat Rock for many years, has retired and will not be with us each Saturday.  Thank you, Bill, for all that you have done for the track and its race teams!  Bill will be around, just not chained to the turn 2 gate!

Look for two flag pole races at both tracks, and a new event—Road Rage!  Very simple—you can’t pass the pace car---when the pace car pulls off the track, the checkered flag is next…..no one knows how many laps, how fast or slow the pace car will run lap to lap, or when Jack Franzil will dive into the infield or down pit road….stay tuned…

The Vintage Racing Organization Association (VROA) will visit Flat Rock Saturday, May 17.  These are the old coupes from the days gone by.

Membership forms will be available soon.  They will not be mailed.  You will be able to download the form from the website.  The cost is the same as last year.

The 2014 Awards Night is set for Saturday, October 18 at the Toledo Speedway Bar and Grille.  We are still in the process of working out all the details of the night.  Around 300 attended the 2013 event.

Late Model Gold Cup dates:  Flat Rock:  May 24 (Joy Fair Memorial 100-raindate Sun. May 25 (holiday weekend); July 26 (Stan Yee Memorial 150-raindate Aug. 2); Toledo:  June 6, July 11, Aug. 15; The date at Spartan Speedway will be announced soon.   **We will be adding a B Main for the 2 Flat Rock dates; we will still run the last-chances, then add the B Main (number of cars at the track will determine if B Main is run).  More on this later                                                                         Please be safe and enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday….Next bulletin will be ready just before Christmas.
