2009 Flat Rock, Toledo Mall Car Show Date Set

TOLEDO, OH (12-3-08)--As the snow begins to fly, plans continue to move forward for the 2009 racing seasons at both Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways. A pair of annual race car shows held at shopping malls have been set on back-to-back weekends in March.

The Frenchtown Square Mall in Monroe, MI will host a variety of race cars Friday and Saturday, March 20-21, 2009.  The mall is located on Mall Road between Telegraph Road and Monroe Street, just 7 miles south of Flat Rock Speedway and 20 miles north of Toledo Speedway.  The tracks have displayed cars at Frenchtown since 1994.

March 27-28 the cars will fill the concourses of the Westfield Franklin Park Shopping Center in Toledo, OH.  2009 marks the third year of the event at Toledo's largest shopping complex, located on Monroe Street.

The tracks will staff booths at both events, with pocket schedules, ticket brochures and much more information available.  Fans can sign up for the email list for weekly updates of events at the 2 tracks, along with a chance to win tickets to each speedway for the upcoming season.

"The mall shows are an important part of our pre-season promotions for the tracks," stated Scott Schultz, General Manager of the facilities.  "We always look forward to these events.  The management of both Frenchtown and Westfield Franklin Park are always accommodating to our race teams and fans."

Track management is working to add some additional flavor to each of the car shows at this time.  Future announcements will be made as they are finalized.

Mall show entrant forms will be available online in mid-February at http://www.flatrockspeedway.com/ or http://www.toledospeedway.com/

Flat Rock opens its new season Saturday, April 25, while Toledo's first weekly Friday night race is set for May 1.  The ASA Late Model event at Toledo has an April 25 date.
