Kyle Crump Looks for his First Glass City 200 Victory

Kyle Crump Looks for his First Glass City 200 Victory

Before 2025, Brighton's Kyle Crump sat winless at Toledo with an impressive resume. In nine combined Glass City 200 appearances between the Outlaw and Template Super Late Models, Kyle Crump had finished second an astonishing four times.  He was runner-up in three straight ASA/CRA Super Series starts (2018, 2019, 2021) and even finished second in both races in 2019, but had yet to find victory lane at Toledo Speedway entering April's Hemelgarn/SuperFitness Twin 100s.

In April, he broke through to victory lane.

Crump won his first late model checkered flag in CRA competition in Toledo. And this Saturday, Crump goes for redemption.

Crump will jump in the VanMeter #23 car this weekend to make his second start at Toledo Speedway this year - his tenth Glass City 200 attempt.

"I've been racing at Toledo since 2017 and unfortunately I haven't been able to race a super late model out here too much as of late." Said Crump, "We came here earlier this year with the Pro Late Model and was able to pick up the win, so hoping with this opportunity here with the VanMeters and VanDoorn Racing Development that we can come to the Glass City 200 this year and finally pick one up."

His most recent runner-up result came in 2021, when he came from the tail to take the lead late in the CRA race. However, Crump would be passed on the final lap by friend Blake Rowe and came up just short at the line.

In April, Rowe and Crump put on a show for the strong crowd, battling side-by-side for laps on end before Crump took the checkered flag. While Rowe won't be on track Saturday, Crump will still have his friend around.

Blake Rowe will be Kyle Crump's spotter Saturday night.

Toledo Speedway is just ¼ mile off I-75 at the Alexis Road exit on the Michigan-Ohio border.  The track is at 5639 Benore Rd in Toledo, Ohio. Toledo Speedway is one of the fastest half mile tracks of the midwest, less than 1 mile away from the Michigan-Ohio border.
