Remembering ARCA Truck Series Champ Bill Withers

BILL WITHERS

William “Bill” Rolland Withers, two-time ARCA Truck Series champion, passed away unexpectedly January 14, 2024, at his home in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 67.

Withers competed in the series, which ran from 1999-2016, from its inception, winning the inaugural ARCA Truck Series championship in ’99 and adding another title in 2007. In 139 career starts in his familiar #57 truck, he earned 111 top-10 finishes, 65 top-5 finishes, won 3 pole qualifying awards and won races at Tyler County Speedway in West Virginia, Shady Bowl Speedway in Ohio and Flat Rock Speedway in Michigan. His race trucks were owned by his wife Leslie and his son Justin frequently worked as a spotter in the ARCA Menards Series.

He owned and operated Withers Foreign Auto Service in Columbus for 43 years. He is survived by his wife Leslie Withers; sons Billy (Sarah) and Justin (Sam); and 6 grandchildren.

Visitation is Saturday, January 20 from 2-5pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place on Monday, January 22nd at 1pm at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victory Junction here, the National Alopecia Areata Foundation here, or St. Jude Children's Hospital here.
