500 Sprint Car Tour, Midwest Mods Return to Toledo in 2024

Officials from Toledo Speedway and the 500 Sprint Car Tour have announced that the series will return to the famed Ohio oval on June 28, 2024. Toledo Speedway hosted a 500 Sprint Car Tour event on Father’s Day in 2022 with the event drawing great praise from fans and drivers alike. Excitement levels are already high for what will be one of the marquee events on the 2024 schedule.

“The 500 Sprint Car Tour was a great event to bring to Toledo. They brought in a great car count and great racing action and added their name to the open wheel history at the speedway. The Father’s Day Classic on June 18th, 2023 received great response from both fans and drivers as a highly competitive event saw two different leaders and a handful of triumphant drives. Kody Swanson, who had dominated at Toledo Speedway in the USAC Silver Crown Series leading up to the event, piloted his way to a victory after starting in eighth place. Swanson also led 37 of the 40 laps. Tyler Roahrig also had a strong drive to the front, finishing second after starting fifth. Most notably was Kaylee Bryson’s ability to navigate her way to a fifth place finish after starting fifteenth in her first career start with the series.

“We are excited to continue the partnership we started in 2023 with Toledo Speedway,” said Jared Owen - 500 Sprint Car Tour Series Director. “Our teams and drivers were very pleased with the event at Toledo last summer. Talks began the minute the checkered flag dropped about making sure we came back in 2024, and we can’t wait to get back there and put on another show for the Northern Ohio crowd.”

After a successful 2023 season saw a drastic increase in full time competitors in relation to the inaugural season in 2022, the 500 Sprint Car Tour has already received commitments from numerous drivers to compete full time in 2024. Toledo fans will be sure to see a majority of the stars they saw in 2023 return to the track in 2024. The Friday night event will be one of many special events held at Toledo Speedway in 2024. The event itself will also be familiar to fans as the Midwest Modified Tour Presented by Wheeler Trucking will once again be headlining the show alongside the 500 Sprint Car Tour. The 2024 500 Sprint Car Tour season will see nine points earning events across a ten race schedule from early April to mid October. The 76th Annual Little 500 will once again be a non-points earning event for the series, filling out the ten race schedule in its traditional Memorial Day Weekend slot.
