BUSY BUS NIGHT AT TOLEDO!

Toledo, Ohio-August 12, 2022:  R & M Recycling hosted the School Bus Figure 8 races presented by PNC Bank Friday evening at Toledo Speedway.   A variety of fun events and Stock Car racing made up the entertainment schedule on a beautiful summer night.  Stephanie Bradley survived and captured the School Bus Figure 8 event and visited the Monroe Asphalt Victory Lane.

Salenbien Excavating and Trucking of Dundee, MI gave away T-shirts to the first 200 adults through the front gate Friday, while PNC Bank had giveaways to the fans also in attendance.

A wild School bus feature saw plenty of bone-crunching hits, blown out tires and a rollover from Jakob Lee, thrilling the crowd.  AJ Padgett looked to be going to the win, but his bus got jammed up against the wall.  Bradley, one of just 2 other buses running, made up a lap and grabbed the checkered flag, her second bus win in a row.  Padgett, Terry Smith, Jack Franzil, Sam Mills, Lee and Dennis Whisman Jr. were the other bus drivers.

Bus sponsors were R & M Recycling, PB Fabrication, Rosenboom, Steven Disposal, Vinyl Exteriors and More, LLC and Central Avenue Truck Parts.

Matt Bunting took a big win with top honors in the 20-lap feature for The Vault Antiques and Treasures Factory Stock 20 lap main event of the night.  Matt’s son, Logan led the race for the first 11 laps.  Matt took the point on lap 12 and held back the charge of Craig Osenbaugh to take the win, his first in “recent memory”!  Third was Steve Smith, fourth was Randy Padgett Jr. and fifth was James Rae, followed by Victor York, Logan Bunting, Brad Turner, Hunter Padgett, Gabrielle Grigsby and Mike Miller.  Smith and Rae took heat race wins.

The R & M Recycling ARCA Figure 8 20 lap feature contest went to Dennis Whisman Jr. over Jakob Lee, Eugene Worden, Dave Lambert, Travis Earley, Brice Thomsen, Scott Apperson and Jamie Simpson.

Dave Lambert doubled up on wins, taking the a wild Boat Figure 8 race over Simpson, Kevin Stepinski, Padgett and Thomsen.  Lambert out-dueled Whisman Jr. in an entertaining Flag Pole race.  Whisman Jr., Thomsen, Stepinski, Worden and Apperson completed the running order in this event.
