CENTRAL TRANSPORT TO SPONSOR GLASS CITY 200

Toledo, Ohio—August 31, 2020: Central Transport will return as the title sponsor of the 2020 Glass City 200 at Toledo Speedway.  The prestigious race is set for Saturday, September 19 at the fast ½ mile paved oval.  A rain date of Sunday, September 20 has been established should weather be an issue.

The Glass City oval just last week received permission from the State of Ohio and the Lucas County Health Department to conduct races with spectators in the grandstands for the first time this season.

“We are very pleased to announce the return of Central Transport as our title sponsor for the Glass City 200,” noted Ron Drager, Owner and Promoter of the track.  The Warren, MI-based company moves cargo from coast to coast and has backed the 200 since 2015.

Grandstand ticketing will be limited to 1,500 with a standard admission price for all events of $25 per person, with specified seating locations to ensure social distancing and presale offering contactless purchasing.   Tickets go on sale Tuesday, September 1 at 9 a.m.  Tickets are available online ONLY at www.toledospeedway.com.  Tickets will be available for all 3 events beginning September 1.

With the limited schedule of races, and limited seating for each event, fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible.

A pair of 100 lap contests are on the slate for the annual event, as the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by Jeg’s stock-bodied Late Models and the Outlaw-bodied Late Models hit the track in separate 100 lap feature races. CRA’s Junior Late Models, featuring 10-15 year old rising stars in full-bodied cars, will also be in action. Spectator gates open at 3, with race time set for 5 p.m.  The ticket office will open at 2 p.m. for fans to pick up their tickets that were ordered online.

Johnny VanDoorn (ARCA/CRA Late Models) and Cayden Lapcevich (Outlaw Super Late Models) are the defending race winners of the Glass City 200.

The entry blank and additional information for the Outlaw Super Late Models will be posted Wednesday, September 2.

A total of 3 premier races will make up the 2020 schedule at the track.  The other 2 events on the schedule are the ARCA 200 for the ARCA Menards Series superspeedway-style stock cars Saturday, Sept. 12 and the Hemelgarn/Super Fitness Rollie Beale Classic Sunday afternoon, October 4, featuring the USAC Silver Crown Series 100 lap contest and stock car racing with the ARCA Late Model Sportsman, Figure 8, Factory Stocks and Street Stocks.
