TOLEDO-FLAT ROCK SPEEDWAY UPDATE—JULY 16, 2020

TOLEDO-FLAT ROCK SPEEDWAY UPDATE—JULY 16, 2020

Toledo Speedway

There have been no changes since our last update on July 3. The Ohio Department of Health continues to state in its weekly teleconference with all Ohio County Health Department Directors that no spectators are permitted at speedways in the State of Ohio at the present time. We are in direct communication with the Toledo Lucas County Health Department on a weekly basis. It remains not financially viable for us to race without spectators.

Based on this information, the Sunday, August 2 Toledo event has been cancelled.

The ARCA Menards Series has received approval to race at Toledo Speedway on Friday,  July 31 and Saturday, August 1 with no spectators. These races are being financially underwritten by corporate sponsorship.

 Flat Rock Speedway

There have been no changes since our last update on July 3. The Governor of the State of Michigan announced that the area which includes Flat Rock Speedway would remain in Phase 4, which allows for a maximum gathering of 100. We are in direct communication with the Monroe County Health Department on a weekly basis for any updates, and have directed us to follow the Governor’s guidelines and orders. It remains not financially viable for us to race without spectators.

Based on this information, the events scheduled for Saturday July 25 and Saturday August 1 have been cancelled.

In the coming weeks, we will be considering our options for events for the remainder of the season at both tracks. As the current pandemic continues to affect everyone and every business, we ask for your continued patience and cooperation. Our position is to stay positive, safe and healthy and we ask you to do the same.
