Thomas “Sonny” Adams began his racing career in Michigan and competed in the Figure 8 class. Sonny was the Owner and Promoter of Toledo Speedway from 1978 to 1998. Sonny passed away several years ago.
His #118 was carried on in later years by his son, Tommy, and his grandson, Landon Schuster, who competes in the ARCA Street Stock division.
Tommy was the 1986 and 1987 Toledo Sportsman champ, while Landon captured the 2010 ARCA Factory Stock title at Toledo and the 2015 Flat Rock Street Stock crown.
