TOLEDO HOSTS SUNDAY AFTERNOON LATE MODEL SPECIAL JUNE 30

TOLEDO HOSTS SUNDAY AFTERNOON LATE MODEL SPECIAL JUNE 30

Toledo Speedway will host a Sunday afternoon special June 30, with 2 types of Late Models in action.  The Ross Mortgage 150 presented by PNC Bank is set for this Sunday afternoon. The original date of April 20 was washed out.

Due to a short field of pre-entries for the ARCA Gold Cup outlaw-bodied Late Models Series for this Sunday, the race has been reduced to 50 laps from the scheduled 100. The 100 lap purse structure, however, will be paid to the race teams.

Track management has reduced the ticket price by $5 each for this Sunday afternoon’s event.

2-time defending Gold Cup champion Frank Jiovani leads the outlaw Late Model entries, with Flat Rock’s last Saturday Gold Cup winner, Brian Bergakker, also entered. Dennis Strickland, Nick Bailey, Tom O’Leary IV, Mike Root, Albert Francis, Chris Benson, Joe Hawes and Mike Mazzagatti have also filed entries.

The ARCA/CRA Super Series presented by Jeg’s stock-bodied Late Models will battle on the ½ mile paved oval in a 100 lap feature event.

2018 ARCA/CRA champion Josh Brock of Corbin, KY is entered, along with local favorites Harold Fair Jr., rookie Hayden Sprague, and Michigan drivers Brian Campbell, Johnny VanDoorn, Kyle Crump and Michael Simko.

Tickets purchased for April 20 will be honored for the June 30 race at Toledo.

ARCA Gold Cup Series sponsors include Moran Chevrolet, Dani’s Transport, Royal Truck and Trailer Sales, DTS Drive Train Specialists, Francis Engineering and Innovative Fluids, LLC.

Wish I could witness another show like this. The old models really are so cool and bringing good old memories.
