This is our third winter bulletin of the season. We will post one for each month through March. The winter office for both tracks is at Toledo: 419-727-1100.

HEAD/NECK RESTRAINT REMINDER THAT ALL CLASSES are now required to have this device. Fastime Racing Engines and Parts is offering deals on them…check them out at www.fastimeracing.com or 734-947-1600..

**Race Car and Parts Auction to be held at Flat Rock! For the very first time, an equipment auction, including a race car and parts auction, will be held Saturday, April 7. Former announcer and noted auctioneer Rollo Juckette and his business partner, Brad Neuhart, will conduct the auction. Cars, engines, parts, trailers….Go to rolloandbrad.com for information and get ready.

W-9 FORMS: ALL drivers will be required to fill out a W-9 form before you go to payoff. That form is on the webpages under forms…fill it out now, send it, please.

Bandoleros: As announced last April, The Bandolero class will have 8 dates for the class at Flat Rock in 2018, for ages 8-14. Information packages are now available—just contact us. An open house is scheduled for Saturday, March 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Spartan Speedway. Admission is free, everyone is welcome! **We have also moved the Aug. 10 Bando date to Saturday, Aug. 18. And, we have added a Bandolero only practice night Wednesday, May 9.

Racer’s Reunion: The annual Racer’s Reunion is set for Saturday, March 17 at the Speedway Bar and Grille in Toledo from Noon to 5. All are welcome, admission is free! There will be thousands of photos and memorabilia to check out! If you have never been to this event, plan on attending! The Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club meeting will follow at 6 p.m. An informational meeting for the new Toledo Street Drag events will take place the same night from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m…..read on….

Street Drags at Toledo! We will be adding a Street Drag program to the Toledo schedule in 2018. There will be 3 dates and a pre-season practice session.

SCHEDULE CHANGES: We sent out a few changes to the 2018 schedules last week; if you missed them, here we go: Flat Rock: The Friday, Aug. 10 event now moves to Saturday, August 11. *The rain date for the Saturday, June 9 bus race is now Sunday, June 10.

TOLEDO: The ARCA LM Sportsman race that was scheduled for Sunday, May 20 with the ARCA event now moves back to Saturday, May 19. The Saturday, August 11 Bandit Big Rig event has been been removed from the schedule--**Toledo will now race Friday, Aug. 10 with LMSP, F8, FS and Kids Power Wheels Derby. It will also be Everyone’s a Kid Night---$3 grandstand admission. It will also be Autograph Night.

The 2018 awards banquet is Friday, November 2 at Crystal Gardens in Southgate, MI.

Sponsors: We are very pleased to announce these division sponsors are returning for 2018! Aramark Uniform Services (Late Model Sportsman), Moran Chevrolet (Flat Rock Late Models), DTS Drive Train Specialists (FR Street Stocks), Victory Lane Quick Oil Change (Figure 8’s), R & M Recycling (LMSP Silver Cup) have renewed their support for 2018. Moran, Dani’s Transport, DTS and Royal Truck and Trailer have also re-upped to back the Late Model Gold Cup Series next season; and the Monroe News returns for the Enduro Series. FR Late Models: Penske Shocks will return to support the Flat Rock Late Models; they will award a $100 gift certificate for the winner and 5th place finisher of each Late Model event in 2018.

Late Model Gold Cup Series entries: will be ready the first week of March.

The Monroe News Enduro Series entries will be ready by mid-March.

Sunoco Race Fuel will again be the official fuel of the tracks. Corrigan Oil (Flat Rock) and Bazell Race Fuels (Toledo) have once again pledged their support for the upcoming season. Fastime Racing Engines and Parts returns to sponsor the Figure 8 and Street Stock fast qualifier awards at Flat Rock for 2018.

We are looking for tire busters for both tracks. We would like to have a couple people to fill the spot as needed at both tracks. We already have a couple candidates, but if you are interested, please contact Scott.

ARCA licenses: you may download the 2018 membership form; it can be found under forms on each web page.

TRACK RENTALS: There are some changes with track rentals for 2018. We will post the information sheet under forms next week….there are no Tuesday rentals, minimum 5 day notice and minimum of 4 hour rentals required….this is due to ambulance availability.

I-75 Construction: I-75 Southbound from the Rouge River Bridge to Northline Road will be closed again in 2018. Northbound traffic will be open. Make alternate plans for your best route to Flat Rock and Toledo!

Toledo opening day: The Spring 200, featuring 100 lap features for both the ARCA Gold Cup Late Models and the ARCA/CRA Super Series Saturday, April 14. Practice on Friday, April 13. *There is an open practice on Wednesday, May 2 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The first race for the Late Model Sportsman and Factory Stocks is Friday, May 4, with the USAC Silver Crown Cars.

Flat Rock opening day: is set for Saturday, April 28-Late Models, Figure 8’s and Street Stocks. There are a pair of open practices: Saturday, April 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday, April 25 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Car numbers: IF you need a car number or there are any changes of car numbers—be sure to call us at the office, or, if you are switching classes. Please remember the Enduro races have an entry fee and a separate car number list…we will do our best to work with everyone.

FLAT ROCK PAD RENTAL FORMS: WILL BE posted on the webpage under forms the first week of March. *We have received more calls about pads than we have in past years….so…..follow the payment deadlines and you will be set. **Short rigs and open trailers may be asked to move to the hill area—we’ll get it all figured out after the first practice….

Next month, we’ll bring you up to speed on our updates and projects at each track……get your W-9’s filled out, membership forms in and pad rentals in the next couple weeks…it will help you get ready for practice and the season! Get to practice, get your car through tech and prepare…thank you!
