KING OF THE WING INVADES TOLEDO FRIDAY NIGHT; SAVE $5 ON ADVANCE TICKETS!

Toledo, OH—July 18, 2017: Several drivers from the West coast will join the Sprint Car drivers from the Tri-state area as part of the Midwest swing for the Royal Purple Synthetic Oil King of the Wing Sprint Car Shootout presented by Auto Value Parts Stores Friday evening July 21 at Toledo Speedway.

Fans can save $5 with an advance ticket purchase. All seating is general admission. Tickets may be purchased by phone by calling the track office at 419-727-1100, visiting the track office or by downloading the ticket order form at www.toledospeedway.com.   Most major credit cards are accepted for orders.

Bobby Santos of Franklin, MA is the defending race winner of the King of the Wing event at Toledo. The NSTA Top Speed Modifieds will also be in action on the July 21 race card and a strong field of 24 machines are on the probable entry list. Brian Nester took the 50 lap main in the 2016 appearance for the division and is expected to be in competition.

Toledo Speedway will be the second of 3 races in the Midwest scheduled for the Winged Sprint Cars under this format. Former Indy 500 driver Davey Hamilton is the lead man for the King of the Wing concept, which will pit drivers from the West coast venturing to the Midwest, and, in turn, the Midwest pilots will go West later on this season.

Ron Larson (Quesail, British Columbia), Johnny Giesler (Merdian, Idaho) and Jason Conn (Prince George, British Columbia) all made the trip to Toledo for the 2016 version of the event. Mike Anderson (Nampa, Idaho) and Gordon Rogers (Wynton, CA) will join this trio of drivers from the west as they make the trip to the Midwest. Toledo Track record holder Aaron Pierce is also expected to compete. The Fishers, IN driver rocked the Sprint Car world with a lap of 12:220 in June of 2015.

The 3 stops scheduled in the Midwest include Kalamazoo, MI Speedway Thursday, July 20; Toledo Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22 at Auto City, MI Speedway.

Friday, July 21 has practice beginning at 5, time trials at 6:30 and racing at 7:30 p.m. The spectator gates will open just before the start of practice Friday evening.
