Toledo, OH—July 6, 2017: Toledo Speedway has 2 open-wheel spectaculars on its July schedule, beginning with the Midwest swing of The King of the Wing Sprint Car Shootout Friday evening July 21. The following Friday, July 28, the USAC Silver Crown Cars return to the Glass City oval for the Rollie Beale Classic 100, sponsored by Hemelgarn Racing and Super Fitness.

Fans can save $5 for each of the events with an advance ticket purchase. All seating is general admission for both events. Tickets may be purchased by phone by calling the track office at 419-727-1100, visiting the track office or by downloading the ticket order form at www.toledospeedway.com.   Most major credit cards are accepted for orders.

Bobby Santos is the defending race winner of the King of the Wing event at Toledo. The NSTA Top Speed Modifieds will also be in action on the July 21 race card. Brian Nester took the 50 lap main in the 2016 appearance for the division.

Toledo Speedway will be the second of 3 races in the Midwest scheduled for the Winged Sprint Cars under this format. Former Indy 500 driver Davey Hamilton is the lead man for the King of the Wing concept, which will pit drivers from the West coast venturing to the Midwest, and, in turn, the Midwest pilots will go West later on this season.

The 3 stops scheduled in the Midwest include Kalamazoo, MI Speedway Thursday, July 20; Toledo Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22 at Auto City, MI Speedway.

The following Friday, July 28, another top open-wheel show is on the race card as Hemelgarn Racing and Super Fitness present the Rollie Beale Classic for the USAC Silver Crown Cars. The 100 lap race will pay tribute to the late Rollie Beale, a Toledo native. Rollie was the 1973 USAC Sprint Car champion and a former USAC Series director. Members of Rollie’s family will be in attendance Friday night. The 2016 event was cancelled due to rain.

Fans will also be treated to a vintage race car display and exhibition July 28, while the Thunder Roadsters touring series will make their first-ever visit to Toledo. The ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman division has also been added to the race schedule. An open-wheel Racer’s Reunion is also planned, and the track will host City of Toledo Employee Night for this event.

Friday, July 21 has practice beginning at 5, time trials at 6:30 and racing at 7:30 p.m. The July 28 time schedule shows practice at 4:30, time trials at 6:15 and racing at 7:30 p.m. The spectator gates will open just before the start of practice each of the 2 Friday nights.
