TOLEDO SPEEDWAY HOSTS ARMED FORCES DAY ON MENARDS 200 WEEKEND MAY 20

TOLEDO, Ohio (May 11, 2017) – The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards national tour is heading home to Toledo Speedway for the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care Saturday and Sunday, May 20-21. To kick off the big weekend, the track will host Armed Forces Day, inviting all active and retired military to attend Saturday’s Destination Toledo Pole Day May 20 as guests of the speedway.

Former NASCAR drivers Ken Schrader and Jeff Burton will take part in Sunday’s autograph session with the ARCA drivers beginning at Noon. Schrader is an ARCA car owner for driver Austin Theriault while Burton will be assisting his son, rising star 16-year old Harrison Burton, for Sunday’s race.

All military personnel will be admitted free of charge to Saturday’s General Tire Pole Qualifying for the superspeedway-style stock cars of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. Representatives from all 4 branches of the service-the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines—will be on hand for the weekend of activity at the Glass City oval.  The Air Force display will feature a “jousting” arena set up in the Fan Fest area outside the track.  Additional displays are expected, including the Menards-sponsored show cars from all types of racing, as well as historic, restored race cars and various sponsor-related displays and activities.

Destination Toledo, the convention and tourism bureau in the city, has partnered with Toledo Speedway for the second consecutive season to promote Saturday’s events. Destination Toledo Pole Day on Saturday afternoon will see on-track action for the General Tire pole qualifying for the ARCA cars, as well as a 35 lap ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman race.

Practice begins at 12:30 and concludes at 2:30 p.m.   Qualifying begins at 3:30 for the Sportsman cars, followed by General Tire pole qualifying.  Saturday afternoon’s schedule wraps up with the Late Model Sportsman feature race.

NASCAR Drivers Ken Schrader and Jeff Burton to greet fans Sunday

Sunday’s schedule for the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care festivities begins with an on-track ARCA driver autograph session from 12 to 1 p.m. Former NASCAR drivers Ken Schrader and Jeff Burton will also be on hand to greet race fans. Pre-race ceremonies and driver introductions follow at 1:30, with the green flag coming just after 2.  The spectator gates will open at 10 a.m.

Media Coverage The Menards 200 will air same-day-delay at 5 p.m. Eastern on FS1. ARCAracing.com will feature live timing and scoring, and live chat of all ARCA Racing Series on-track activity.

Discounted Tickets on Sale Now at Menards General admission discounted tickets for the 76th running of the May 21 Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care at Toledo Speedway are now on sale at six Menards stores in northwest Ohio. The tickets are on sale for the special price of $15 between now and Saturday, May 20 if purchased at Menards.

The Menards stores selling the discounted tickets include Defiance, Findlay, Holland, Oregon, Sandusky and Toledo, Ohio. Children under 6 are free.
