Night of Thrills-Fireworks-Carnival Rides at Toledo Speedway Thursday, July3

STUNT DRIVER TOBY THIBODEAU TO BE GUEST ON RADIO SHOW TUESDAY NIGHT AT SPEEDWAY BAR/GRILLE

TOLEDO, OH (6-30-2008)--  Toledo Speedway, The Toledo Blade and Cumulus Radio will kick off the holiday weekend in the Glass City with the “Night of Thrills” Thursday evening, July 3.  The family-oriented event will feature the Thrill show, Figure 8 racing, Carnival rides and Fireworks for the special night of fun and entertainment.

Toby Thibodeau, one of the featured Imperial Stunt Drivers of the Thrill Show, will be the in-house guest on the Tuesday night ARCA LIVE Radio show at the Speedway Bar and Grille.  The Thrill show is beginning its 2008 tour with the Toledo event.

 

The “Night of Thrills” will feature the Imperial Stunt Drivers Thrill Show, Fireworks, Carnival rides and racing, with the show to start at 7:30 p.m.  The track will not race on Friday the 4th, but will use the holiday as a rain date for the July 3 show. 

 

In the event that the July 3 date is rained out, the fireworks show will NOT take place on the rain date, July 4, due to prior bookings by the fireworks company.

 

Toledo area residents can listen to WXKR 94.5, WLQR 1470 AM the Ticket and 106.5 the Zone to win a 4-pak of tickets to the show.  Cumulus will host a live radio remote from the speedway Thursday night from 7 p.m to 9 p.m. with Dan McClintock hosting the remote.

 

The Toledo-Lucas County VFW Post 2898 will give away small American flags to the first 250 kids that come through the front gate and will also donate two-3 x 5 flags in the lucky number program giveaway.  The post will also sell poppies for a donation on the night of the event.

 

Carnival rides will be available in the track parking lot for much of the late afternoon and evening.  Metropolitan Shows of Toledo will be the ride concessionaire.

 

A Factory Stock Figure 8 race, a Figure 8 Train race and the Boat Figure 8 race will follow the Thrill Show, which takes the track at 7:30 p.m.  The fireworks show, similar to the types conducted at other area sporting events, will follow the conclusion of the race program.

 

The track features $1 hot dogs, with all concession items priced between $1 and $3.  No coolers, cans or bottles are permitted in the grandstand area.  Parking is FREE on the spacious track grounds.

 

Tickets will go on sale at 5:30 p.m. the day of the event, July 3 at the track ticket office.  The gates will open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m.  There is no pre-sale of tickets.  Adults are $12 for this event, children 6-14 are $3 and under 6 are free.  The rain date is Friday, July 4 with the same time schedule in effect.
