NEW TROPHY FOR GLASS CITY 200; MORE AWARDS AND…PHOTOS!!

September 25, 2013:  It’s almost here!  And the weather forecast is….well, we’ll wait to see what Saturday brings to the Toledo Speedway!  Just more notes, news and more photos for you as the 25th Anniversary of the Great Lakes Helicopter Glass City 200 arrives Saturday, September 28.

Check out the Silver Cup that will go to the winner of the 200, fitting for the Silver Anniversary of the race!  Who will take home the Cup on this very special occasion????

And this just in---McIntosh Oil and Marcus Malcuit Racing has posted a $150 bonus to the 2nd fast qualifier for the 200.

Lap money is sold out for the 200.  

And for you history buffs, here’s some more photos of Joe Ruttman’s storied career!  Joe is making the trip from Florida to serve as Grand Marshal of the race…

ruttmantrickle.jpgHere’s Ruttman racing door to door with the legendary Dick Trickle (#99); in victory lane at New Smyrna Speedway in Florida, with car owner Stan Yee during the World Series of Stock Car Racing in 1972; at speed in Stan’s #33 on the dirt; in his #70 Camaro after a win at Pinecrest, Ontario Canada Speedway in 1975; Ruttman at speed in California in 1977; in his #27 Ford in 1967; at speed with John Anderson in 1973 at Toledo on his way to his second Glass City 200 win; and in victory lane at Illiana, IN Speedway at the Tony Bettenhausen Memorial 100 in 1972 at the wheel of the #40.

It’s just beginning!  More history to be made, the 25th Anniversary of one of the most prestigious season-ending Late Model races in the country!  Make your plans for the Great Lakes Helicopter Glass City 200, presented by Francis Engineering, Woodville Auto Finance, Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express this Saturday at Toledo Speedway.
