ARCA GOLD CUP, MAIN EVENT LATE MODELS TEAM FOR MILLER LITE 100

(TOLEDO, Ohio - August 13, 2013) - Who will drink from the Miller Lite glass (like Brad Keselowski’s championship glass!) and take home the Gold Cup and $2500 Friday night at Toledo Speedway???

Race fans will see the some of the top Late Model drivers in the area as the ARCA Glass City Gold Cup Series and the Main Event Late Model Series will combine forces to compete in the Miller Lite 100 Friday night, August 16 at Toledo Speedway.

NASCAR Talladega 500 race winner David Ragan will visit with fans and sign autographs at Toledo Friday night.  Ragan is in the area for Sunday’s NASCAR event at Michigan International Speedway.  The free meet and greet with David will be held approximately from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

This is the second year for these 2 groups to work together for the 100 lap contest at Toledo.  The Gold Cup Series will crown its 2013 champion in their final point race of the season, while the Main Event has several more events on their current schedule for the year.

Defending Gold Cup champ Dakota Carlson leads Scott Hantz and Harold Fair Jr. by a mere 5 points going into the 5th and final race of the series, which includes 2 events at Flat Rock, 2 at Toledo and 1 race at the Spartan, MI Speedway.

Current Main Event Late Model Series point leader Bud Perry leads the contingent from the Sandusky, OH-based group.  Jeff Ganus, Drew Charlson and Marcus Malcuit are also expected.  A field of 25-30 cars is expected for the Miller Lite 100.

Toledo’s Parts Galore Figure 8’s and the R & M Recycling X Cars will compete in their Season Championship races also this Friday night.  Robbie Loving leads Dennis Whisman by 15 markers in the Figure 8 battle for the crown, while Tommy O’Leary has a 70 point margin over Archie Padgett in the X Car chase.

The pit area opens at 2 p.m., practice will begin at 4:30, time trials are set for 6:30 and racing begins at 7:30 p.m.  The front gates will open at 4:30 p.m.
