“FASTEST SHORT TRACK SHOW IN WORLD” SAILS INTO TOLEDO JUNE 14

(TOLEDO, Ohio - May 31, 2013) - It’s the race that’s described by race fans as a “can’t miss race, you have to see it in person” and on and on.  It’s the All American Coach/Hemelgarn Racing/Super Fitness “Fastest Short Track Show in the World” at Toledo Speedway, starring the Adkins Glass MSA Winged Super Modifieds and the winged Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints (AVBBSS)!  Created by Toledo track management, the event has become one of the top open-wheel pavement races in the country.  The date is Friday, June 14.

How big is this race?  NASCAR champion Tony Stewart attended the race for several years, while 2012 NASCAR champion and local hero Brad Keselowski was spotted at Toledo for the 2011 edition of this race!  Drivers from 6 states and Canada are expected for the 2013 version of this one-of-a-kind event at Toledo’s lightning-fast ½ mile, high-banked paved oval.  The pre-entry list will be available by Monday, June 10.

Defending race winners for the All American Coach/Hemelgarn Racing/Super Fitness Fastest Short Track Show in the World are Canadian Mike Lichty in the MSA Super Modifieds and Illinois resident Jason Cox for the AVBBSS Sprints.

Arriving early to see practice and perhaps the most exciting qualifying session at a short track in the nation is a must!  If the track record is to be broken this year, it will take an unprecedented effort!  In the 2011 time trials, an incredible lap of 12:389 was set by AVBBSS Sprint driver Charlie Schultz in a car fielded by Dick Myers.  Jason Cox came up just short in his bid for a new mark in the 2012 edition of qualifying, clocking in at 12:473.  The Super Modified record is 12:893, set by Chris Perley of Maine in 2009. Toledo’s track has been extremely fast so far in 2013, with new track records set by a pair of touring series events.

The speedway will stage a pre-race ticket sale for the June 14 contest.   Race fans can save $5 per ticket by purchasing their tickets prior to race day.  The track will offer both reserved seating (with backrests) and general admission tickets for the advance sale.  Major credit cards are accepted for phone orders and on race day.  To obtain advance tickets, please call the track office at 419-727-1100 or the ticket order form may be downloaded from the track’s webpage.

The pit area will open at 1, practice begins at 3 and the front gates will also open at 3.  The much-anticipated time trials hit the track at 5:30 and racing begins at 7:30 p.m.  Log onto www.toledospeedway.com for further information and updates.  Like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/toledoflatrock or follow us on Twitter @toledospeedway.
