Outlaws on the way; Hollywood Casino Glass City Gold Cup coming to Toledo Speedway Friday

(TOLEDO, Ohio - Thursday, May 9, 2013) - The first of six scheduled ARCA Glass City Gold Cup Late Model races - the Hollywood Casino 100 - is Friday night at Toledo Speedway.

A field of 20 to 25 ultra-fast outlaw-bodied late model cars is expected to make the trek to the high-banked half-mile track.

The pits open at 1:30 p.m., practice is at 4, time trials start at 6 with racing at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Among the entries are defending series champion Dakota Carlson of Cedar Springs, Michigan and other Michigan drivers like Mike Root of Grand Rapids, Brent Jack of Indiana and Madison, Wisconsin driver Andrew Morrisey.

The ARCA ACME Dismantling Sportsman will also be in action, giving fans the chance to see two classes on the ½ mile paved oval. The short track will see the R & M Recycling X Cars in competition Friday night.

The Glass City Gold Cup encompasses six races at three tracks. The schedule includes the Hollywood Casino 100 Friday; the Joy Fair Memorial 100 at Flat Rock Speedway June 22; the "Chargin" Charlie Ryan Memorial 100 at Spartan Speedway; a 100-lap race at Toledo Speedway July 12; the Moran Chevrolet-Stan Yee Memorial 150 at Flat Rock July 27 and the Miller Lite 100 at Toledo Speedway Aug. 16.
