FROLING LEADS TOLEDO WIN PARADE

FROLING LEADS TOLEDO WIN PARADE

(TOLEDO, Ohio - May 3, 2013) - Toledo Speedway kicked off its weekly Friday night race cards with Jim Froling, Robbie Loving, Tom O’Leary IV and David Katafiasz capturing feature wins on a cool yet comfortable night at the Glass City oval.

The 35 lap ARCA ACME Dismantling Sportsman feature started with Howard Kelley Jr. taking the lead early in the contest.  Jim Froling charged up on the outside lane of Kelley and the duo ran door to door until they touched, sending the pair into a wild spin down the front straight in front of the rest of the pack.  Everyone avoided contact, Kelley accepted responsibility and that put Froling back into the lead.  Jim stayed in front the rest of the way despite pressure from defending champ Ron Allen for the rest of the distance.  Mike Young got by Kyle DeLisle in the late stages to take third, DeLisle came home fourth and Kenny McKay Jr. took the fifth spot, followed by Kelley Jr., Norm Lewallen, Kent McCloskey, Dan Grigsby and David Frantz.  Allen set fast time at 17:033, with the heat race wins going to DeLisle and Kelley Jr.

5-3_f8_16.jpg2-time champ Robbie Loving slipped by defending track champ Dennis Whisman early on and sped to victory in the 20 lap ARCA Parts Galore Figure 8 feature race.  Whisman chased Robbie the rest of the way to grab second, Chris Cox was right there in third, Anthony Terris took fourth and Randy Roberts was fifth.  Whisman took the heat race win.
