High Hopes for Chad Finley in 7-UP 150 at Toledo

High Hopes for Chad Finley in 7-UP 150 at Toledo
(DeWITT, Mich. - April 19, 2013) - If Chad Finley runs as well this weekend in the "Border Wars" 7-UP 150 at Toledo Speedway as he did in last month's annual Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway, the DeWitt, Michigan second-generation racer will be a force to be reckoned with.

The event, which culminates with a big 150-lap main event Saturday night, will mark the first time in history that the ARCA CRA Super Series powered by JEGS and the ARCA Midwest Tour will come together to compete in the same race at the same track.

Finley impressed all last month in the Rattler 250 after he shattered the one lap track record in qualifying, and led the first 100 laps before engine trouble halted his impressive run.

"The Rattler showed that the new Port City car has a lot of speed," Finley said.

"The balance was really good also. We broke a distributor down there that was heart breaking to say the least. We pulled the motor and Dewayne (McGunegill/McGunegill Engine Performance) went through it again and checked it over so we should be good to go."

As for the 7-UP 150 at Toledo, Finley has high hopes of contending for a win, despite the more than 50 pre-race entries.finleyintrotol09.jpg

"Our hopes are to pick up where we left off in Alabama and that's to find victory lane," the 21-year-old continued. "I really like the race car and how it responds to changes. Butch (VanDoorn of Port City Racecars) and all the guys at Port City have been a tremendous help to us."

Finley is no stranger to anything with the ARCA moniker attached to it. During the 2009-2010 seasons, he made 11 starts in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards for Brad Keselowski Racing. Finley scored the Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell at Rockingham Speedway, and earned a trio of third place finishes at Berlin Raceway, Pocono Raceway and Rockingham.

"Anytime we get to run an ARCA-sanctioned track we're excited. They run a top notch show and the facilities are awesome. We all just need to do our jobs this weekend and everything should be fine. I have a really good feeling about this race. The best of the best will be there and we will be right there with them battling for a win."

Finley is the son of ARCA Racing Series veteran driver Jeff Finley, who made 67 career ARCA Racing Series starts, earning a victory on the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds mile-dirt in 1999. He scored 24 top-five & 38 top-10 finishes overall with a career-best championship points finish of sixth in 1998.

Live Timing and Scoring Plus Live Streaming Audio at 7-UP 150

In addition to coverage on the BCSN TV network and Speed51.com, ARCAracing.com is getting in the game in a major way with live timing and scoring and live flag-to-flag streaming audio coverage. The combination of the two media platforms at ARCAracing.com will mark the first time in history that the ARCA CRA Super Series and the ARCA Midwest Tour will be featured simultaneously in live streaming audio, accompanied by live timing and scoring.

The live timing and scoring element at ARCAracing.com begins Friday afternoon, April 19 with an optional practice session from 3 p.m. to 7. The combination of live timing and scoring in tandem with live streaming audio comes together Saturday for all the on-track activity, including practice at 11 a.m., followed by qualifying at 3 p.m. With so many entries pouring in, as many as two ‘last chance' races will begin at 5 followed by an on-track autograph session that leads to pre-race ceremonies, and ultimately, the 7-Up 150 main event.

ARCA Racing Network anchor man Charlie Krall and color commentator Tim Clagg will provide the audio coverage. The team of Krall and Clagg also provide all the live streaming audio coverage throughout the year for ARCA's national tour - the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.
