Longtime ARCA Late Model Crew Member Bill Giordano Passes

William Joseph Giordano, long time ARCA Late Model crew member for the late John Anderson and others including Artie and Jay Sommers, died unexpectedly March 25 at the age of 60. Giordano was a fixture at Mt. Clemens Race Track, Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways and at major late model racing events around the midwest from the late 1960s into the 1980s and was affectionately known as "Dago". He was a frequent visitor to the Stan Yee Racing shop and was employed by high performance parts companies including Diamond Racing Products and Katech Engineering.

Bill was the husband of Ann (nee Maltese) and the late Marie; father of Joseph (Jennifer) Giordano and Michelle Giordano; grandfather of Stella; brother of James Giordano; and son in law of Stella Piazza and Jennie Maltese. Visitation will be held Friday March 29 from 3-9 p.m. with funeral services Saturday March 30 at 11 a.m. at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, 36900 Schoenherr Rd., Sterling Heights, MI 48312, (586) 826-8550.
