TOLEDO SCHEDULE CHANGES:  We did change a few things from the schedule that was released December 27; the ARCA Trucks will run Saturday, May 18 on the ARCA weekend; the Sportsman and X Cars will NOT race on this date; however, the Sportsman will now be added to the Friday, May 10 show with the 100 lap Gold Cup Late Model event.  We have added the Top Speed Modifieds to the August 2 show (the Legends will not race that day).  We may have just a couple other adjustments, but they should not affect the local racing classes.

SPORTSMAN, X CARS AT TOLEDO:  As an experiment with these 2 classes only at Toledo, both divisions will run 4 car dashes and heat races in 2013.  The criteria will be IF 16 cars or more are able to race on that given night, the dash will take place.  IF there are less than 16 cars, there will be heats only.  Dash cars will NOT be put back into the heat races.

FLAT ROCK SPORTSMAN RACES:  In an effort to expand and provide more exposure for this class, we have 2 races scheduled for the Sportsman cars at Flat Rock in 2013.  THEY WILL BE POINT RACES and will be added to your Toledo totals.  STREET STOCKS:  In order to be eligible for the Flat Rock Sportsman races, here is the criteria:  to run 1 of the Flat Rock races, you must compete at Toledo in Sportsman class at least 1 time prior to the first (July 20) Flat Rock race; to be eligible for both Flat Rock races, you must compete at Toledo a minimum of 2 times.

GROUP TICKET FUNDRAISER:  It’s tough to have groups sell tickets to a race and get results….so, instead of selling, we have come up with a voucher system for your non-profit or charity group—NO SELLING INVOLVED!  Pick a night, we’ll get the vouchers to you and when a ticket is purchased and one of the vouchers is presented at the time of purchase, the tracks will donate $5 per ticket to your group---it’s that easy….call us today to get the details….A great way to raise funds and a great way to create new race fans!

The Toledo season opens Saturday, April 20 with a 150 lap race for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Late Models/ARCA Midwest Late Models (template bodies).  Practice is Friday, race is Saturday, rain date is Sunday, April 21.  This is the very first combined show for these 2 groups.

Toledo will have an open practice Sunday, April 28.  The first weekly show is Friday, May 3, and the Fastest Short Track Show in the World is June 14.  The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards 200 is Saturday/Sunday May 18-19.  The Silver Anniversary of the Great Lakes Helicopter Glass City 200 is Saturday, September 28.

2013 PROJECTS:  At Toledo, we have finished grading and seeding behind the new stands, while work continues on re-grading the infield.  We have applied a patch of sealer to the short track at Toledo to reduce the amount of pebbles coming up off the track surface—the first test was promising.  We will get a race in on this and then move from there.  Flat Rock’s plan is to replace the catch fence and uprights in the turn 3-4 area, in front of the spectator hill.

February bulletin will go out at end of that month…stay warm!
